Suzanna and Natural Pose, but both cost money, in the latter case $99. The problem with transparency is not all Bryce's fault it is partly Poser. Bryce won't read .pz3 (which is inexcusable, I think), but the problem is compounded by the fact that Poser doesn't export the transparency information when it creates an .obj file, which is also not very smart. Does anyone here have a full spec for the .mtl format? If I could get hold of that I might be able to run up a little utility myself. I've searched for it but can only find subsets.

Unlike griggs, I'm often working on pictures that form a narrative. So two pictures may show the same figures in different poses in the same scene with very similar lighting, in which case the textures can be the same. This means setting up the textures the first time, and then copying the textures for every part from the old figures to the next ones every time there's a change. Which is a bit tedious.

I find it annoying that everyone who makes an .obj file thinks it needs its own separate directory instead of using ones that exist already. You can end up with a huge mess unless you edit each .cr2 as suggested above.

Light at the end of the tunnel? I like the cave, but I think there should be more obvious candlelight.

All right, looks like this was too hard. Just a (th)(s)ong at twilight, When the lights are low And the flickering shadows Softly come and go Though the heart be weary, Sad the day and long, Still to us at twilight, Comes love's old song. Comes love's old sweet song.

Well, I don't have problems exporting and importing, but it is a hassle retexturing each figure every time I need to change the pose slightly. Although Bryce recognises the texture, it doesn't recognise transparencies or bump maps, and always imports with inappropriate values for ambience and specularity. It's partly a problem that when Poser exports a .obj, it only uses a subset of the .mtl file format. It would be very useful to get hold of the full .mtl file spec but it doesn't seem to be on the web. The only online documentation is for the limited subset that Poser uses.

Dear me, and I thought this was easy. Here are two clues: - 4,1,4 or 5,2,8 - Consider what she's wearing and the time of day.

The shadow on the water is actually a reflection of the shadow on the rock, so that's OK. The problem is the lighting on the figure is too flat; not enough contrast between light and shade. Perhaps the ambience is too high?

Actually that's not quite right; Bryce groups any meash parts with the same MATERIAL name attached to the same figure unless you tick the topmost box in the Poser .obj export dialogue. Since many props are textured with something called "Preview" they will be bunched together. If you have a figure with two props parented and two props not parented Bryce will read these four items as two meshes. It took me ages to work this out. Either you have to export the obj using exact figure names (in which case all body parts will be separate meshes, yuk) or you can change some of the material names using the grouping tool on Poser.
