Thread: Task bar not working? | Forum: Bryce
I think there was another string in here (Bryce forum) about why XP did that.

I am using an ASUS P4T, but Abit is a good name from what I hear. No particular leanings but I have never had an ASUS mobo screw up in all my machines incarnations (I have had 6 since I started upgrading my 286 and most have been overclocked by about 1 or 2 steps in speed)

Both Bryce and PhotoPaint (and to a lesser extent, Draw) can be serious memory hogs. If it was going to happen, that would be when I would expect to see it happen. How much ram do you have on your machines? Daylight in the swamp!! Do you have the auto turned on in the preview window? Sometimes in a big model this trying to refressh as you manipulate the model will temporarily lock out response until it finishes. And if your change is small, you may not notice it doing that preview rework. (I usually work with this off except in early stages and later I do a partial rtender and then Plop to check the area I am looking at) This any help?

Do you use other apps at the same time as PP? I have told it that it can access up to 75% of my ram in the customize. occasionally I will have my CD music program running or the thumbs plusopen at the same time but never more than that when in one of my image apps. most curious problem!

I use W98SE on my P4 1.8 512 Mb and the taskbar never shuts down on me, I run Poser4, Bryce 5, the full Corel 9 package and have never seen this. Are you sure this is a Corel issue?

The only time i ever saw this was after doing a 50 tree multi-replicate, doing a distribute/size, not liking what i had, deleteing, repeat twice and - viola! The message. I had saved immediately before trying this though so was not too stung. I now, when getting into very large (my def is 65Mb or bigger models) save on a more frequent basis. To date I have not had this happen again. I run a P4 1.8 with 512 Mb RAMBUS using W98SE.

I quite understand (the diff between win flavours and the being a computer geek). As an aside, does anyone know how B5 behaves under Linux?

Doesn't happen on my laptop (P2 366) or desktop (P4 1.8) with W98SE. Curious.
