The backroom link works fine for me. What I have found to work is once you are in the forums, click on freestuff, go back to the forums then click on backroom. It sounds strange but it works and gets me to the backroom.

Thread: Glitch- Sky turns blue when camera inside model | Forum: Vue
Now that is a most peculiar glitch. I am glad you found the problem. Here is another work around, point your camera up towards the sky (with no ground plane or objects) do a quick render, save it, then apply it to the window as a jpg/bmp file and essentially treat it as if it were a background image of a sky like Thomas Krahn does. He has a tut if you want to see it.
Thread: cameras in 5Infinite...help ! | Forum: Vue
LOLOL. Man I gotta laugh because that has happened to me so many times. First I have to say that I don't know the answer to your question, but I do have a fix so that it never happens again. When you begin a new project and before you have done anything, create a new camera by clicking the camera button. Then select that camera (usually camera2) and work from there. Create additional cameras as you work but NEVER touch camera 1. Always let that remain your default camera. I am sorry I couldnt help you out immediately, but I think my tip will help you out in the long run.

Thread: Newbie question - importing | Forum: Vue
When you export your file in DS, export it for Bryce and make sure the last two boxes (collect maps and convert maps for Bryce) are checked. This will export the item as an obj file which you can then import into VUE. When Vue asks for the location of the maps simply click your way to the maps folder that DS created----usually on the desktop. I hope this helps you. G&C
Thread: --Need Some Free HDRI Maps? | Forum: Vue
What are light probes? and how do they work? Also, What is the difference between them and HDRI maps? Sorry for being lame but I just dont know and they seem important so now I am curious.

Thread: Black box's/Render Promblem - please help!! | Forum: Vue
Every thing that was said is absolutely true. One thing that was not mentioned that I have found useful is this: After working on an image and of course saving often, before I initiate a final render, I save and exit the program. Then after about 20 seconds when windows has finally flushed my memory, I start VUE up again and load the file then I start my final render. This assures me of the maximum amount of resources and I almost never have problems. Hope this helps you. G&C

Heres an idea you may have already thought of, have you scanned your hard drive for errors? IF there is an error on your HD in the sector(s) where Vue is installed you will have problems. I would scan and defrag your harddrive that Vue is installed on. It is a quick and effortless technique that just may work and solve your problem. G&C
Thread: hexagon | Forum: Vue
I have Hexagon and have already ordered Hex2 which should ship in the next month. I would not buy Hex 1 but wait till Hex 2 is done. IMHO it is a fantastic modeling program. I specifically chose it because I am new to modeling and after viewing all the tutorial videos on their site numerous times I felt I could easily learn the program. It took me a little while and now I can model quickly and easily. I heartly recommend the program to whoever wants to break into modeling and doesn't need to spend the extra money for a program that also renders. I love it and, until something else can beat it for its features and price, will continue using it till I die ;)
