Thread: Nubie Help (probably simple) | Forum: Vue
My very own opinion is that you should not make a glowing material AND having a lens flare on your light. If, as I suppose your globe is supposed to be translucent plastic, keep the glowing and uncheck lens flare (for a transparent material, like glass, uncheck glowing and keep lens flare). Then, if as I supposed, it's a translucent globe, your lamp should cast SOFT shadows. That will increase your render time, but add to realism... And, for a translucent globe, light is never really white. You should make it a little yellowed. Argentium Thri'ile
Thread: Has anybody noticed that plants in vue are not transparent? | Forum: Vue
Yep, you're reason, Dot', a translucency tab in material editor could be cool... you can try to mail to E-on for suggesting it, or maybe hope they'll think about it or that they will read this thread... Argentium Thri'ile

Well, I was reason... back-lighting is what you're looking for... :-) If you really insist for getting leaves transparent, the easyest way is, as you suggested, to mix the leaves material with a 100 % transparent material. Then, you just have to vary the proportion of mixing for the effect you want... Argentium Thri'ile

I'm not sure I understood what you're meaning, but, if I did, you can also use the back-lighting (I don't know the exact word used in English Vue) on leaves material, you should have the effect you wanted... PS : I'm also not sure you'll understand my post... ;-) Argentium Thri'ile

Yep, Walther, you can smoke manual, or even ingest CD... :-) You're reason, Jcleaver, it's a sort of strange hallucination, with no time and no space (and no wife, kids, work...) LoL ! Argentium Thri'ile
Thread: Import Poser Pro Pack crashed in the demo version | Forum: Vue
Vue is supposed to work with both Poser and ProPack. I use a PC, so I can't help you very much, but I have read on another post that you can't have textures on another subfolder than your PZ3 file with Mac Version of Vue. It's maybe your problem... Maybe a Mac user could help you more... Argentium Thri'ile
Thread: what does d'Esprit mean? | Forum: Vue
Yep, it's french !!! "d'Esprit" in english is "of spirit" or maybe "of mind". "Vue d'Esprit" is a sort of hallucination, what you can see with your mind's eyes, it's all about imagination... For your crash problem, as you have Vue4 for one month, I suppose it's a 4.1 version. If it's not, download the patch. The source of the problem could be the OpenGL preview mode that your GPU doesn't support. Try to upgrade to the very last patch for it, and if it doesn't work, try to disable it in you option menu. If you want more help on this, post more details about what makes your Vue crashing, or go to see support on E-on website... Argentium Thri'ile

Thread: October contest - the winners | Forum: Vue
Congratulations to all of you !!! As we can see with asunta and Yves (congrats, guy !), imagination and talent are prevalent on the program itself !!! Mehedil, your idea really seduced my eyes... And, one more time, thanks Guitta spending time on that contest... Argentium Thri'ile
