I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. --Albert Einstein

Thats it! Freedom in structure...I like that description. I do hope others give it a try, I will post my own in a little bit. Thats the beautiful thing about learning new forms in any genre, it gives you new framework to play with and perfect. Thank you for taking the challenge.

To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead. (Thomas Paine) I just so loved the spirit and purpose of Paine's writing. so I thought to place this here.

Fisted does have a slang usage in the U.S. English language as well, which refers to a masochistic sexual act, but I find the line very clear in terms of the way the word is used here, as the previous sentence precludes such grammatical misconception.

What I like in a good author isn't what he says, but what he whispers. * Logan Pearsall Smith Which is also what I find I like about most people. Azha !)

great poem Ian, love the strong imagery. The line "I pay tribute to my mortality," makes me want more of that moment, also, "I look at my hands, and the imprint on the tiles," really strong line, to me anyway. I wanted more here, in some way it seems as if it could be a part of the tribute. All in all good poem. I look forward to reading more of you. Azha !)

Welcome nick, glad you decided to join us. Your poem is really beautiful. I can't find any technical points that I would pick on myself. I don't give to picking apart sentiment with intellect, I find your line breaks make for a very soft easy read which I think is befitting of the poem itself. Again welcome, and I look forward to reading more of you. Hope your recent discovery of R'osity is as good as my own has been.

LOL, I always knew the library would be a cool place to work, books bring out the most curious people. Great essay, sounds like the makings of a wonderful short story.
