A quick clarification - the Platinum Club is $29.95 for the first month and $7.95 each additional month if you sign up for monthly membership. http://www.daz3d.com/program/platinum/ Back to lurking

MaryK, Even though it's just an update, DAZ files can't be redistributed. simontemplar can get the update for M3 and the body morphs by requesting a reset on his account for those two items. Cheers!

Also, make sure you have the updated body morphs. (You can go to your account and reset the download for the morphs.) I believe you need both in order to get the left side morphing properly. Hope this helps, Cres
Thread: At $60.00 Wardrobe Wizard has priced me out. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There's a list over at philc.net that shows which figures are programmed into the WW right now. It isn't really a one-click, but it has some nice utilities to get a good fit. It's not difficult to use, IMO, though it has a few drawbacks - notably, no native way to get morphs in the final results (it doesn't transfer over any morphs so if you have a skirt with morphs to make it sit, etc., you have to do extra work.) This isn't to downplay the program, just to let buyers go in fully understanding the program - its weaknesses as well as strengths. It doesn't do body handles, either, though I don't know of a conversion program that does. Is the program worth it? It depends on how many models you have, how much clothing, and how good your skills are with magnets/postwork (plus how much time/patience you have doing it yourself.) If you only have one or two models, don't use morphs much, and haven't bought a lot of clothing, it's probably not worth it to you. If you have a large number of characters (or use a lot of the body morphs on a few meshes) and a good-sized wardrboe, it's should be of value to you. Also, if you do serial work, such as animations or comic books, then it might be worth it to you as you'll need to reuse the clothing over and over again, so one-off "postwork specials" wouldn't cut it. Hope this helps, Cres

Unfortunately, you can't transfer morphs betweem M3 or the Freak and other Unimesh figures. Those two meshes were cut differently so morphs do not transfer over with Morph Manager. There is a utility for sale here that will transfer them over though I can't remember what it's called. DO NOT INJECT MORPHS INTO THE "BLANK" CHARACTERS! These characters are for morph designers who want to create new morphs and redistribute the characters legally. I've seen a lot of people make the mistake of trying to inject morphs into the blank characters and get totally frustrated. Also, make sure you're using the latest version of a figure. Use V3 sr2 or the V3 SAE (SAE has some of the expression morphs already INJected in.) When you inject a morph, you may need to click off the body part then click back on to see the new morph dial. It's because Poser doesn't refresh the dial list properly. Also, it may sound silly, but make sure you're using INJ to inject the morphs and REM to remove them. I know at least one person who was using the wrong set and was going nuts trying to figure out why the morphs never appeared. Hope this helps, Cres
Thread: Aiko's and Hiro's head in other models? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You might need MAZ's Objaction Mover, then, not the RTEncoder. Sorry about that. If you go to the Renderosity Free section, go to Poser, then Utilities, then go to the last page and you can find it there. I think .pcf may be Objection Mover instead. The file should be keyed off the V3 figure. Hope this helps, Cres

Could you be more specific in what you need help with? When you install the files, you need to install them in the Runtime folder. The files have paths from the Runtime folder that will install them in the proper places. After that, you need to locate the .pdf file (it will be in RuntimeGeometriesDAZPeople), and run the RTEncoder on it. This will create an .obj file from the .pcf encoded file. Now you can load the Posette/V3 character and use it. If that doesn't answer your question, please let me know what else you need to know and I'll do my best to answer. Thanks, Cres

Oh, I'd forgotten about some of the files I'm hosting for others. (I thought I was going senile as I didn't remember making a P4 - V3 figure.) What questions do you have on it? I should be able to help with this. Thanks, Cres

Thread: Copying PP runtime into P5 runtime | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep, but they asked about merging entire Runtimes and that can cause a problem. Most of the subfolders inside the Runtime folder can be copied, moved, etc. without problem. I did find that certain folders inside the P6 Runtime can't be deleted (the "heads" folders) but you can delete the files inside those folders and free up a lot of space if you don't use the face room in P6. Cheers!
Thread: Copying PP runtime into P5 runtime | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can goober things up if you merge Runtimes. There is at least one file inside the Runtime that will kill other versions of Poser. I have a copy of the factory default runtimes for P4, PP, P5, and P6 so I can check things out in different versions of Poser. I've accidentally copied the wrong runtime into a version of Poser and Poser wouldn't work until I deleted that runtime and put the correct one it. There's at least one .dll that causes issues because each version of Poser wants a different version of that .dll. (There could be other files as well, but I saw no need to start experimenting on all the ways I could kill Poser.) Cheers!
Thread: Poll - Who's Still using Poser 4? - content creators want to know | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Short answer: PP. I own P4, PP, P5 and P6. (Heck, I might still have the P2 and P3 disks around somewhere.) For a lot of what I want to do, PP is the way to go. I mostly use Poser to simulate line art - heavy postworking in PS so neat stuff like HDRI isn't useful for me. The toon render doesn't do what I need, either. I'm going to start playing with P6 and for certain types of renders I may go that route, but at least for now, PP is still better because it's quicker to render. P4 is a dog and I wish CL had used PP as their "new" Poser Artist program. .bum files are horrible! P5 has a lot of stuff I don't use and is slower to use than PP. The P6 lighting interests me (point lights - happy dance!) but until I play with render options and look at speed issues, it won't be my primary render engine. Cheers!
