Hello,
Yep, I've had this happen a couple of times. I'm running Vue6,Vue6i, and Vue7c on my machine with dual boot WinXP Pro and WinXP64.
Vue, all of them, put a file called Vue----.reg in the windows folder on your boot drive and for some reason it get corrupted. When you get Vue running, make a copy of these file(s) . If it happens again, just replace them with the backups. This works for me but not sure if Vista is different or not.
Now if I can just figure out why Vue6i has started crashing on ecosystem renders 8-(

Well, I have tried about a 100 variations and still can't get the Vue6i ecosystem to work. What is really frustrating is that (1) It worked fine then all of a sudden it didn't (2) Everything else works fine. Poser import and all.
Here is another quirk. I have a dual boot with WinXP Pro and WinXp64. I installed it in 64 and everything works great. I know...I know...why not just use the 64 bit version and leave it at that. Well, I use a lot of stuff on the 32 bit side and it's just bugging me It iriatates me when something isn't working right.
Anyways, back to the drawing board (no pun intended)

Thanks,
I tried reinstalling it but I didn't do the clean thing. I'll try that next.

Okay, thanks for all the advice. I'm going to mull it over and give it a couple of days to cool down...the program also.

Okay, I found the reg file in the windows folder. Does it have to be installed in the registry or does Vue just use it as is ?
This must be my lucky day! I just recieved an email form Eon saying they reset my activations. I'm going to have to eat my words about the year delay 8-) ... happily.
Thanks...

I'm running Vue7c on a WinXp32 machine at the moment. Haven't yet made the "jump" to 64 bit but soon. One headache at a time. I'm logged in as administrator. I tried to figure out where Vue7c hides the trigger for the activation code but couldn't find it.
That brings up another question. When I upgrade to a new computer/64bit OS, will I have to reinstall Vue ?
Anyways, I have a support ticket at Eon for this. I should hear back from them in a year or so.

Garee and Wolf359:
I DO have DS and Poser7. It is just and experiment to see if I could get V4 to work with and older version of poser is all.
JoePublic: I'll try that and see what happens.

Hello,
Miken999: I don't have Poser5 installed at the moment but the V4's work fine in 6 and 7.
snabald: I have DS but don't work with it much. This is just one of those things that kind of irritates. It's not a biggy but sure would like to know if it can be fixed.
Gareee: ??? What suggestions ???

Hello,
Question: Is XP Pro a 64 bit operating system? I always get confused over the different varieties.
Thanks...

I have to apologize to everyone. I found the model on a Russian site and couldn't find out who made it. It was originally in 3DMax format and I radically modified it. I never meant to claim that it was my original mesh. I was just trying to give something to the community.
It has been removed.
Again, I am deeply sorry.

Thread: Vue 6 Esprit or Vue 6 Infinite? | Forum: Vue
Hello,
Here's my 2 cents worth.
If you've got the bucks, I'd go for the big gun if I were you. You will grow into it.
I have Vue6 Esprit with three modules and it is sufficient for what you want to do. But take my word for it, you will want Infinite sooner or later. I have kicked myself in the buttocks for not getting it in the first place.
