I then proceeded to try out the "make movie" animation feature, and that's where things went off the rails.
The first thing I noticed was that Poser no longer spools the images directly into movie files. Instead it prefers to generate a ton of individual image files and then merge them afterwards.

If it's not a bug it sounds like some objects might be locked and/or hidden. For whatever you have that doesnt move, can you select it and check the Object menu to see if Lock is enabled? I'm curious about that one. Ive never had any issues with this myself and all I use Poser for is animation.Select and drag does not work right for all figures, some morphs do not carry over properly.

Absolutely agree! That is all I use Poser for too and its an area that definitely needs some love. Especially considering the GUI slowdowns that have come over the years. For example the Animation Palette is lightening quick when I go back to Poser Pro (7) but these days there is a long delay/lag we have to wait for every single time we try to arrow through frames. it makes the process a bit frustrating. Especially for more complicated scenes. I almost need to go back to older Poser just to do the main animation work and then bring it into modern Poser to finish it up. Id rather keep it all in one place.Main thing I always wanted to get improved was the animation panel.

As long as its only optional and they don't remove perpetual licenses like Adobe did its not bad. That just means people who can't afford the big price tag have the option to try it out.The day Poser adopts the subscription model is the day that I uninstall Poser.

Thread: Is there a Renderosity Discord server ? | Forum: Suggestion Box
Check this post on the topic. I was asking the same a while backThose that have been a long time may remember the Renderosity Chatroom, we always had fun there.
I was wondering since so many use Discord nowadays if Renderosity had a server there.

Sunfire posted at 8:41 PM Fri, 19 April 2024 - #4483821If you're ever curious where things exist, in the Lirbary enable the Extended Details Panel (found at the bottom of library if you click the 3 dots). it will show you the filepath and it even provides a button for "Show in Explorer" to make it easier to go to. As far as I've seen it works the same for both official and custom runtime locations,I'm looking at Local Disc (c:). Program Files > Poser Software > Poser 13 > I do not see a purchases tab. I see a Runtime folder, then a libraries folder, but the only thing in that is an empty collections folder. In the program you will find a purchases tab with the library. Click on it, then click on included and download from there. It will install into a directory called included. It is also where you will find the default content that installs with Poser 13.

I still have Poser Pro (7) and 2014 installed just to use the D3D scripts. Its very sad the dev has passed. They will not get updated.
The D3D Delete and Figure to Prop were the most useful and quick tools and they were so fast. Super quick to open and use with a few key presses.

if you really get under the hood editing things in text and animating 2d things outside of poser to place on geometry, you can bring in fx animation. I like to experiment with those.
Modifiers and bullet physics are fun too

It absolutely is although not often shown to be. Some of the coolest animations have been made using it despite some limitations. Those limitations are something I've grown fond of. Here's a few examples:Hello , i did check poser in YouTube and forums but mostly i seen people using it for still images while poser says it is powerful for animation too so i wonder if poser can be good for animation or it is only good for posing and rendering still images ?
if i want making animation is poser 13 good choice ?
also have anyone done animation with it if so i want to see their result please .

-RWBY Vol 1-3 (with a team) is probably the biggest nationally known production in the world to use Poser
(we mainly used Poser 2014 at the time, but not much has changed in the animation department over the years aside from added features and a few changes...still good)
The initial RWBY Red and White Trailers were only Monty, and then Black and Yellow was he and I tag teaming:

White

Black

Yellow

I have a couple goofy personal projects too:
Mega Man X Fanimation

Previs Dummies 1&2 (ugly but fun, just to focus on the animation side)

I'm still using it but have been too busy with animation work lately which requires Blender for the pipeline, but absolutely not done with Poser. I much prefer doing animation in Poser over Blender, but there is a bit of knowledge for making use of it that can be a little scarce to come by unless you know people who know.
All of the above mention projects did make use of original models, some game assets, products from DAZ and other places, all modified of course.
Hope that answers you question.

Gave this a try too just to see what's up. Ive never noticed that issue before but also don't think Ive ever used the "Graph..." context menu button to access it.
It opens a whole new graph window for the same parameter every single time it's clicked.

I'm trying to find into too. That link make all the virus alerts go nuts on my compy.I'm not particulary worried about the version of Python. I grok Python fairly well. What I'm looking for are definitions of the Poser classes, methods, etc., and that's been a real bitch to find. However, for anyone else looking for similar information, I did find this site useful: https://vdocuments.mx/poser-python-methods-manual.html?page=1. Not perfect, but it is possible to dig out the needed information.

Thread: Poser hangs when cancelling a superfly render | Forum: Poser 13
randym77 posted at 5:12 PM Thu, 27 April 2023 - #2979035Quoting myself since Edit is not an option.Ive run into this too. For test sake, next time it hangs, see what happens if you press Alt+F4 (make sure you saved your work before attempting, or try with a test scene).I tried the same file in Poser 12, and it's fine. Click "cancel," and the render cancels nearly instantly.
But with Poser 13, it just hangs. Task Manager shows CPU usage is high, but nothing seems to be happening. Maybe it would resolve eventually, but after several minutes, I killed Poser. Tried it again after rebooting, same results.
See if instead of forcing Poser closed (as Alt+F4 normally would), see if it cancels render, freezes Poser for a few seconds, and then go back to normal. If it does, now try to render with Superfly against and then also cancel it again once it starts. Curious if we are getting the same results.
