Better go for a few really fast ones, but 40 slow ones, if you don't want to spent most of your budget on electricity and cooling. Just my two cents... ;)

UB means that the program is a universal binary. V6I is UB so it will run natively on the IntelMacs (MacPros), which will mean a significant speed bump compared to a G5. As wabe already suggested I'd go for the MacPro for sure. 3GB should do, however it depends on the amount and size of textures maps used.

Well, fishes start smelling when they're dead. Mine are still alive - so no smelly image at all. ;) If you could upload a material that would be great, since the one I have looks kind of strange. Just one more question... I'm going to use volumetric lights to create a most realistic result, but I'm afraid the terrain will be visible to a certain extend. Any ideas how to avoid this even without haveing V6I at hand?

Hi Gerhard,
That's what I'm up for. :thumbupboth:
Could you please let me know what settings you've used to create that material? This would help a lot. In the Vue image I'm currently working on the light's mainly come from the upper right in the back (moon shining through a window), however I'll also need to set up a light in front to light girl's face as well.
Many thanks,
Phil

Same problem here on my mac (Dual 2.5) with Poser 5 after upgrading to Tiger. :( Worked fine in the beginning, but after the first crash it constantly keeps on crashing when I try use the pose bodyparts window. Very annoying!!! Any ideas if CL will fix this for P5 as well? I don't have P6 and I also don't see any reason to get it, since the new versions doesn't offere any enhancements that I have any use for. ;)

...one more thing. I usually use the bumpmaps that come with the figure and if none is available I use the color map as a bump map as well.

Now I got it. ;) I usually set the bump gain to 0.1 or even lower depending on the POV and size of the figure. I also edit the highlights, since the imported figures usually have a dark grey which makes the skin look kinda dull. You might also have a look at Djeser's skin mat settings thread at: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1281461 Hope this helps. :) PhilThread: Another question about Poser textures... | Forum: Vue
Have you downloaded the actual update from e-on's website? Maybe this will fix your issue. I'm on Vue5Infinite so I can only guess what's wrong.

Could you please clarify which version do you use (Vue 5 or Vue Infinite)? Otherwise it's a little bit difficult to help. ;)
