Um yes, well since everything here is in fact a re-install, fried hard drive. AND DLM was used to install everything, AND left 100% default. Wiping the whole thing out and starting over, for the 3rd time, doewsn't sound like a very hopeful solution.
Thanks. V

So okay,
From the downloaded Zip file the base path to everything is: C:UsersDownloadsIM00021630-01_Genesis3FemaleStarterEssentials.zipContent Under that we have 5 folders: Data People Render Presets Runtime Scene Builder
If i dig into the "people" folder I get exactly the same files that I mentioned in the previous post path being now: C:UsersDownloadsIM00021630-01_Genesis3FemaleStarterEssentials.zipContentPeopleGenesis 3 Female Folders are: Clothing Hair Materials Poses
Three files are: Genesis 3 Female (DSON User File) Genesis 3 Female (PNG) Genesis 3 Female.tip (PNG File)
Going back to my hard drive and where I am finding files - AND assuming that C:UsersDownloadsIM00021630-01_Genesis3FemaleStarterEssentials.zipContent is equal to the path C:UsersPublicDocumentsMy DAZ 3D Library - (remember this is all default, I have changed nothing in the install.)
I do find a folder named People - and is I continue I get to the point: C:UsersPublicDocumentsMy DAZ 3D LibraryPeopleGenesis 3 Female And there we have the same 4 folders and the same 3 files as mentioned from the ZIP.
So I open DAZ Studio 4.9 - and In Actors, Wardrobe & Props - I find "figures" under Figures I find People - Expand People, and there are more choices, Female, Male and Child Select Female I show as options: Real World - (all that is in this folder is Victoria 6) Genesis - (Loads without issue) Genesis 2 - (Loads without issue) Genesis 3 - (Blank - except the question asking "where are my files") Victoria 3 - (Loads without issue) Victoria 4 - (Loads without issue) Victoria 5 - (Loads without issue) Victoria 6 - (Loads without issue)
So the files are there, they appear to be in the right or correct place - AND I can load Daz by "open with..." and use them, singly - They are just not available via the DAZ Studio UI.
Thanks for the help any other ideas?

Yeah I was thinking a re-install might resolve... BIG hasstle, but may be the only resolution...
Now, think it might work to re-install over the top of the current installation? Hate to think the 20+ gig of contant has to be gone through... AGAIN :D

Hi Kobalt -
Didn't mean anything by "club" other than 'everyone talking about and using and creating for' the weight mapping, that was it.
My biggest disappointment in it all is JUST upgraded to PP2010 (less than a month ago)... from Poser 7, it was big leap and I've been away from it for a long time... saw an add on Amazon and said "what!? $50.00, for the latest poser and Pro to boot...?!?" Snag!
Only to find out it's NOT the latest and greatest, and the latest and greatest appears to blow it out of the water... So I spent $50.00 to be 2 years behind... I can live with that..Since I was about 5-6 years behind :) Plus now I have the Pro features...
Just wish I hadn't been dixlexic and read 2010 as 2012.. :)
Thanks,
V

Quote - No, at least Poser 9 for enjoying the benefits of weight maps, Poser 2012 if you want to make your own weight mapping to a figure.
:Sigh:
Navigates to download folder... Delete, delete, delete, delete... this could take a while...
Considering that I "JUST" upgraded to PP2010, it will be a few months/years before PP2012 is within the budget...
:Sigh:
Thanks,
V

Quote - Check 3Dream's store. He had Universal Skullcaps for use with dynamic hair.
Some of HMann's aka Magix101 hairs have skullcaps.
Or you can make your own with grouping tool. Select the head, go into the group editor. Select the polys you want in the skullcap group. Hit spawn prop and name it.
Exit the group editor. You should have the figure in the figure list and the skullcap prop in the props list.
Green part at the back of her head is the skullcap that I made from Vicki...
Okay so now here is a question - I am essentially trying to figure this out so that I may one day be able to create hairs that are marketable - Since the skull cap is a direct "create prob" from the Vickie geomatry - would I need to look at some way to modify it so that it is "mine". and not just an export? Or does it count as just a piece and therefore not the whole so doesn't count?

And so I loaded Poaser today to work on a model, got the message "yo, there are updates to this version, you want them?"
So I said, yeah whatever why not try again...
Entered serial, and it told me I had to login, so I did, it took me directly to the shopping cart and download was successful.
All I can think is it took Smith Micro avout 2-1/2 weeks to process my registration...:::Shrugs:::
I dunno.
Thanks everyone.

Nanette, when you say grouped, do you mean seperate areas for various parts? Like Bangs, crown, sideburn, and etcetera? So far for this style I wanted just a simple cut, trying to do in Dynamic, a couple things I've seen for sale...
Also, when shortening after growing, would you say best to shorten from closer to the root or the tip? Bending I get, that's sort of from "wherever you get teh best results" since the style tool is just oh so accurate in adjustements :)
Any, bangs are more or less what I was looking for, except for the need of the use of regular scissors, and not pinking shears ;)

I've registered...
Made an account...
Log in, and go to get teh updates and I still get "Invalid serial number"
I don't get it, how can the serial number be valid for registering, but not for updating?
Thread: Poser Pro 2010 69.00 price | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah I just upgraded to 10 myself - and am finding that everything is lists as P7, P8, PP2012... Skipping right over PP10.
One can only "assume" (i HATE doing that) that if the article is for PP12, some semblance of it might pertain to PP10.
P.S... My copy was $55.00 from Amazon... but Smith Micro, refuses to accept my serial to allow me to update it... I can register it, but the update just refuses to happen (Invalid serial.)

Oh...
And how in the world do I get a nice even edge?
No matter what I do I get that fade out effect, and it is driving me nuts...
