The only shatter/explode plugin I'm aware of is PhilCs Exploder, which I just bought today but haven't tried yet. Is that the one you've looked at already?

Razer Abyssus here. Feels good in my hand, nice USB connection, fast, accurate, and of course the glowing snakes on it make it even better (heh).
Thread: any rumours of next Poser release? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Like many, I'm still learning all of what PPro 2012 can do! Brain hurts more often than not right now (heh).
I'll bet the next release will be Poser 10 and PPro 2014. New features will incliude an unbiased renderer, more intelligent library management, support of 3D glasses, pen interface enabled, touch enabled, and support for direct output to a 3D printer.
Also new will be the "Choreography Room" and "Audio Room" so your renders can be all-singing and all-dancing!

Thanks, much appreciated!
Wow, Houdini - now THAT'S rocket science! Best of luck, sounds like a wild project!
Thread: Timing for the next Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, there's no point on working on the next release if the world is going to end!
I bet the next version comes out right after I finally come to grips with PPro 2012. That seems par for the course...
Thread: Directory manager for Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Great thread! Just upgraded to PPro 2012 and was looking for something like the Library Manager to help with finding stuff when setting up a scene. At 1/2 price, getting it was a no-brainer.
Should help save my sanity, I hope! Well, what's left of it...

I'll just toss out a comment on the cost thing...
I'm spoiled and I admit it. When I can get serious 3D rendering software for free (Daz) or less than 1/2 the cost of Lightwave (PPro) then I find myself falling into the "why should I pay $50 for that model?" mindset. Worse, a LOT of what I end up using is worth easily twice what I paid for it (and yes, I would have paid that much for things I need for my Webcomic).
I'm not a modeler, I can't push polygons to sav emy life, so I have to rely on Talented Others(tm). And right now I can get incredible models for dirt cheap, so I take advantage. But every so often I see something I have to have, that's not in the sub-$30 range, and I go ahead and invest (while wincing). Yet even 5 years ago I'd have had to pay a modeler $$$$$ for something like a Stonemason set or a PowerAge armor!
I'm spoiled rotten. I suspect a lot of people are, it's an embarassment of riches in a buyers market.
Maybe if Poser/DS/etc. would gain more acceptance as a "legit artists tool" (and no, I'm not trying to start a flame war etc.) we'd see more semi-pro/pro iusers willing to pay for higher-end models, because they in turn will make a return on investment selling their artwork.
I'm not making a penny with what I'm doing. I don't expect to make a penny from it, ever. So I'm kind of lokced into the "hobbyoist level" of willingness to suffer financial pain with a Poser content purchase.
Ok, rant over.

Meh. I just dropped a pile of cash on male clothing, I'm working on a Webcomic and I need heros/peasants/plain old dudes to help populate it (not to mention 1/2 the major characters are male).
It's tough, for sure. Thankfully the Rogue tunic/pants have add on textures, I can mix and match so that not everyone is in the same uniform, add in some Xurge3D and Daz clothing and it's possible to kind of have a decent wardrobe for a male fantasy character.
Finding impractical armor for M3/M4 has been a pain, though. And why should Vicky have all the fun getting flesh exposed to cold air, dirt, and the occasional spitting dragon?
I might recommend a Kickstarter project for new male figures and clothing, that's a "put up or shut up" way to approach fiundng new development. If the money doesn't materialize, no big loss, you haven't spent six months or mpore for zero ROI (return on invetment).

She looks pretty good to me, XDresser support "out of the box" is a WIN as far as I'm concerned.
Reasonably priced, as well. She's worth a shot, I can only go so far with V4/A4/S4.
Wishlisted until I get paid next week!
Thread: PP 2012 or DAZ Studio 4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had no idea there was a Poser to Lux exporter! Downloading now...
My recommendation: get DS4, get the Poser trial version, and try both. Then pick the one that you're most at ease with.
A lot of Poser content works fine in DS4, but as was mentioned fancy Poser materials won't work well (if at all), and Poser dynamic cloth won't work period.
Best of luck with your choice! I moved fro DS4 to PPro, PPro works best for me, plus I'm saving up for Cinema4D and being able to bring my content into Cinema is important for me.

I'm voting with my wallet - just bought some items here instead of the equivalent from Daz. And RDNA is going to get some of my hard-earned greenbacks this coming Payday.
DS4 is OK, but I'm not "upgrading" this time until my few critical plugins are working in 4.5.. 4.1 is working fine for me right now.
@**sgbryan - **I've often wondered how they've managed to stay afloat, given their behavior. They've got to be bleeding money right now, and as you said loss of goodwill. This changeover was a massive IT project, and even huge companies have hiccups in rolling out large-scale changes.. someone, somewhere should have known Murphy was just waiting for the switch to be thrown.
I still wish them the best, though - and hopefully it'll be a "learning experience"

Teething pains on the new software, I'd definitely give it at least another day or so before I tried anything involving the store!
It'll be ready... SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!
