The last contest for January, you felt not enough pictures were submitted. So, you extended it for for the entire month of February and I think (at most) 2 new pictures were submitted. Now, you don't close the contest for March on time, and we have a vote disallowed for being past the deadline. Please.. run the contest for the period stated, close it, and stop all this nonsense.

Well, Im parking Vue 5I untill a "working, bug free" release is forthcoming. I cannot reinstall every other day and still have my Vue Directories "eaten, wiped, and erased" for a reason unknown to me. It didn't happen until I installed plants purchased from Conucopia store. Now EVERY plant, even those included with Vue 5I is continually erased. Support tickets? Don't even ask how many. E-On , you win. Enjoy my three prior payments for 3 of your products. Never again.
Thread: Materials disappearing....... | Forum: Vue
Well somethings funny. I placed a Vue Plant I bought from the Cornucoplia store (used install after downloading). Now, Vue 5 I has wiped my Plants directory! If I reinstall and DON'T add the bought plant, all works fine. But add the purchased plant, and walla, Vue 5 I eats the directory .. wipes it off the face of the map.. totally EMPTY!
Thread: Materials disappearing....... | Forum: Vue
Yes long as I access those mats through Windows Explorer, I can apply them to my object just fine. But when I turn that folder into a collection in the material browser...Vue deletes them from the folder itself....simply GONE!!

I am losing even the Vue original plant dirs as well.
This is getting serious. My Vue 5 I ran like a charm till the Cornucopia store opened.
I have wiped and reinstalled and this still occurs as well as constant lock ups. Support? 20 tickets enought?

Thread: Cornucopia3D Store Update | Forum: Vue
Well, I understand E-ons reasoning. It's simple to see. They want to protect any VUE CONTENT sold through their "store" so that it cannot be shared by the purchaser. Each product is tied to your Vue serial number if I read this correctly. Wonderful.. I don't supposs the "store" will carry 3DS, Poser, or Lightwave products as they "can't" be tied to a Vue serial number? First off, the "store" should plainly state this in simple english or whatever lanquage you use. Second, I bought VUE as a product ( This includes Vue4, Vue5, and Vue Infinite). I did not but it for a "store" account with E-on. Any other software I but for any other software comes with it's own installation code. I don't mind. I print it our and save it. It's not tied to Poser,3DS,Lightwave, or any other software. It's tied to (Encrypted) to the individual product I bought. Be it a tree, a plant, or an object. Now, if Vue is going to attempt to make each Vue Product sold apply to a the Vue registration key, that definate means that product can only be used and modified by the individual owner within VUE. It cannot be exported or modified outside of the VUE program. It is VUE specific. Unusable in any other software product. That is not going to sell many products, especially if most other products allow the exporting of their products into VUE but Vue does not reciprocate. I be be totally wrong. If so, I apologize. Just tell me the vob file I purchase and modify can be exported. If it can't, and can only be used in Vue it is worthless to me.
Thread: New Update from Eon 5.08 - Build 277859 i hope without Encryption | Forum: Vue
This is the same number version (277859) that was released at the opening off the Vue Store. Is this NEW or simply a rollback?
Thread: New update 277944 | Forum: Vue
Sent this to E-on and their forum...
Im only going to say one thing. As a purchaser of Vue 4, 5, and Infinite, and as a commercial designer, I have produced several models for myself in light wave and 3DS formats. I imported these to Vue and saved many in .vob format. This was done simply for my convenience.
These are my creations, not E-on softwares. They are not sold, given away, traded, pirated, or otherwise.
Simply put E-on, you have taken the liberty to encrypt my work. I did not give you permission to do this. You have stalled several commercial pieces in process or delivery, and set several design projects behind schedule.
Yes, I have the models in my other formats other than as a vob file. Some will import, others will not.
I have sold over 50 business clients your software by referring them to your site back when Vue 3 was first released.
I suggest you forgot the store idea, and restore your software to its prior operating capability as soon as possible. I am sure you realize the damage this is doing to your otherwise excellent reputation and your relationships with long term customers. . Encryption may be a good idea. Applying it to others works in even a different format is not acceptable. Your non-beta release of 277929 does not fix this problem on all prior objects, even those in a non-vob state. Now you mistakenly released 277944 which most forums state DO NOT DOWNLOAD.
Isnt it time for the management of Vue Software to issue its uses a formal apology and their plans for correcting these issues? No offense to the artist representatives who may or not be on Vue Software payroll, but your replies and defense of E-on should not be necessary. This should be addressed by E-on Software management on the E-on site with an apology to all its customers.
Thread: New update | Forum: Vue
I may be on a Permanent Vacation from Vue. They dont take E-mail technical support:
quote:
"Because of spam, we can no longer guarantee that e-mails will actually reach our support technicians. To avoid any support requests being lost, we now handle all of our technical support online."
This is what the Technical Support Center is designed for. Please do not send any support requests by e-mail! We are not sure that we will get them!
So post your problems in their Forums... and wait...
I cannot even enter a request to Tech Support. Try it. I get only as far as the Knowledge base. Next step should be file your tech suport request. Problem is, that step is not shown. Is Tech Support down at E-on also?
I bought Vue 4, 5, and Infinite. Unless something is done to improve Vue's customer service, I won't be buying any more. a Big HUGE APOLOGY on the E-on site would be a nice starter..

Thread: Encryption of files is a BAD idea for everyone | Forum: Vue
"Look, piracy exists, but most users of Vue are legit. Pirates always break any encryption system, ALWAYS (go check Microsoft in last week or so, lol)"
"Now, this new encryption system is an affront and abuse of the CUSTOMER."
Yes. Even though I own Vue 4, Vue 5, and Vue Infinite, according to the new store, I am a pirate. My account is locked saying someone else used my serial number. I have spent SIX days trying to get help from the store or E-on, writing to every link possible. Funny thing is, the error page referred me to write to redemption@eon.com or something like that and mail is returned saying no such address. Well, that was fixed after 2 days, so I copied my ENTIRE account page at E-on , with the serial numbers THEY have listed and the store page with the EXACT same serials and sent to all concerned. Nothing..no reply from E-on. Now the store is down.
If my account is not fixed, I'm gonna go balistic after spending money on Vue products these many years.
Maybe it was a blessing as all the products I see were encrypted and useless to me anyway. I hope when the store is re-opened, all the problems of encrypted are wiped, as well as the fact my account is unlocked.

Thread: Some good news, and bad... | Forum: Vue
Thanks for all the comments and good advice.. according to my legal beagle, all looks on the up and up.
They are buying rights to market only. I retain full rights to the work unless I wish to sell the rights to any particular work.
This company does a good bit of marketing in artwork to businesses that furnish their clients new buildings with artwork like banks, commerical malls, etc. It is only a one year contract and they market any piece they want.
I am paid a sign on bonus, and a per piece price of any artwork produced and sold, plus a monthly fee to produce 2 works of their chosing per month (normally landscapes).
It's my understanding that their clients choose the artwork from a catalog of pieces during construction phases and they then frame and produce it on canvas.
This catalog contains mine and others work in abstract,
landscape, photography, and other forms.I have been told 5 of my original works will be in their fall catalog, with "slip-ins' used until then.
They retain exclusive marketing and publishing rights for the year. After that, it's a new contract if both parties agree. I am not allowed to publish or print any piece without their permission for the period involved.
Thats about it in a nutshell. As I said, I'm not leaving this forum or site as it always contains great tips and advice and I enjoy it immensely. Thanks to all for all your help, tips, critisism, and encouragement and I
will be back posting after this ends I know.
One things for sure...people DO look at your artwork on this site so post it!
