Thenk you both very much for your comments, they really are appreciated! I was hoping to take care of the first two issues this morning (before going to work) so I re-rendered the file with the other sorenson codec and it knocked about 10 megs off the size, to around 19.5 M. I am still learning about the 2 Sorenson codecs that come with Premiere. As for the second comment, how about if I name it "Alpha Team"? It would just take a few tweaks to set that straight. As for the third comment, I really appreciate the fact that you enjoy these little cartoons. I would like to respond more fully to that so I'll check in later, right now I'm at work so I can't stay online too long. However, I just got a couple funny ideas about this weeks episode. Either "The Diner" about a restaurant or "Sir Spandex" about mideivel knights in shining armor. I'm already crackin' myself up! Thank you very much once again. AJ Velez

Thank you very much for the comments. I hope you had a pleasant holiday! I have done some work on the faces with this new cartoon I am making and I must say, the emotion to be had by a few simple tweaks is amazing! I am still WIP however I am trying to integrate everyone's comments I get. Episode 4 - "Alpha Romeo" should be posted later today. I will start a new thread about that one in this forum so maybe others can enjoy it and send me critiques. AJ

Thank you very much for taking the time to watch my cartoon. I appreciate your comments, and will integrate them into the next episode. I got a little carried away with the dancing scene because I was using a new sketch render setting, I imported a .BVH motion file and I collaborated with a musician from Canada, The Robert Spriggs Group". They read one of my other posts and offered to let me use their music. The facial expressions could use a little tweaking here and there. This is only my third attempt at cartoonin so I am learning a lot from peoples comments and what they want to see. If you have a collaboration idea or know someone who does, let me know. The 2 previous episodes can be seen here:

First I want to graciously thank all of you for your input. It really is helping me to get better. Y'all know that in Poser I can select the eyes and have them point at the camera, or whatever else. I tried that in a few scenes and it does make it more realistic. In other shots I just centered the camera on the characters face and that did the trick, but you can really tell when the eyes aren't moving. The dance sequence was a bit too long. I admit, I was trying to show off a bit. I used the sketch designer setting "colored" and I imported a .BVH motion file. Also, I was granted the use of the music by The Robert Spriggs Group. They read one of my other posts and I thought collaborating was a good idea so with all that new stuff going on I got a little carried away. As for Bryce, I have imported .AVI files into poser and used as a background to some of my previous animations, and I know Bryce can export an .AVI so... we'll see. AJ ps if anyone else has a collaboration idea or you know someone that does, let me know.

Hey bro, this one's for you! Remember last week? One of my co-workers suggested a woman so BAM, two new characters! Honestly, I am thinking about looking for some animation or comedy short film festivals. Until then, I'm already working on this weeks episode. I am planning on using the animation movement to make some funny scenes like hyper drive, etc. I really don't know what's going to happen until I get into it, but I got these cool spacegraft models and I was thinking about making a flyover scene in Bryce and importing into Poser. Thanks Jay! Honestly I was a bit disappointed however I tried some new techniques that made up for it. Also, I pulled this one off in about 24 hours for a 3 minute cartoon. I can't tell you what's more fun, making it or watching it! I didn't do a very good job animating Carlos, you can see he is standing in the same pose for a long time. A closer camera angle would have solved this. Also, Jim's hair is blonde in some scenes and black in others! As for the Mom character, I don't have the skills yet to transform Vickie into a believable old hag fast enough, so I just used another default character from the Pro Pack. I just look at each episode as a weekly learning experience. I have some plans for this weeks episode, "Alpha Romeo" and I don't want to give it away but I want to use more movement. It's going to be a space adventure. AJ

I would like to acknowledge and thank all for your comments, they are really inspiring! This next cartoon will be called "El Spam Bandito" and it will feature a Latino character as the hero and (another suggestion) a female character. I will add some backgrounds and make the transitions a little faster! I hope to have it posted by Sunday night. AJ Velez

See how impressionable I am? You just gave me a great idea! You want it, you got it! I am in the middle of making this weeks episode, "Spam Bandit". I can do a good Latino voice. I think I will call it "Spam Bandito"! And I will make the hero a Latino character. Thanks for your comments and stay tuned!!! AJ Velez
Thread: NEW Animated Cartoon Comedy - "Ice Cream" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello, how are you? I have posted a new animated cartoon, The Sketch Boys in "San Frisco" by AJ Velez. You can check it out here: Windows (9 m) http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?videos=321632&T=6595 Mac (35 m, sorry!) http://www.foreordained.org/mov/sanfrisco.mov First I want to thank everyone who made suggestions about my last cartoon "Ice Cream" Windows http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=456912&T=5603. Mac http://www.foreordained.org/mov/icecream2.mov How I Did It. I started out by writing a funny script between the two "Sketch Boys" characters. When I was done I put the cordless headmicrophone on so I could move around while I was recording and really get into the part. I recorded the vocal bits into Sony Acid Pro 5 and exported each one as a seperate .WAV file. Then I listened to each .WAV file to see what I really said and I transcribed that with the help of the script into corresponding .TXT files, one for each .WAV. The reason I did this is because DAZ3d Mimic 3 only accepts .WAV files and it uses the .TXT files for additional accuracy. I imported each .WAV and .TXT set and applied them to a model face. I tweaked the facial parameters in DAZ3d Mimic 3 to get some funny expressions, then saved the file and exported a .PZ2 file. This is the file that Curious Labs' Poser 4 Pro Pack uses to create the animation. I imported each .PZ2 file and applied it to a model, then I made some cool camera angles and motion. I used the Curious Labs' Poser 4 Pro Pack sketch designer with the colored pencil setting. I brought the background density to 0 as well as the outline. The I exported each file as an .AVI file to a folder. In Adobe Premiere Pro I imported the entire folder and also some sound effects from Sony Screenblast and Sony 1,001 Sound Effects CD, like the car door and the engine running. I mixed the sound and exported from Adobe Premiere Pro as .WMV, .MOV, DVD MP2, etc. I also used Adobe Photoshop 7 to create the layers for the opening splash screen and Adobe After Effects 6 to create the motion graphics. I encourage you to make suggestions as to what you would like to see in the future! AJ Velez

You're right! Thank you again, I have the shot in mind already. This is what I am thinking, an ariel shot of the two models that slowly zooms in. There will be a prop in this scene, so the models will be posed in life like stances around the prop. There will be a little movement of the models so it looks like they are interacting with the prop and each other, like a hand wave or something simple. I'm thinking about 5-8 seconds should establish the setting. I wrote out the script last night so I will begin making the wav and text files tonite! AJ Velez

Thank you both very much for the feedback, I guarantee you will see some camera angles and both characters in the same scene at the same time next week. I will post a link here when it's ready! AJ Velez
