I have a few objects with that sort of scale problem as well.
Since .obj files aren't native to DAZ/Studio you can put them into any folder you want. One called imported objects with sub folders named for the various objects comes to mind as sensible. I usually just rescale the object if that sort of thing happens. The textures are usually of a scale that allows them to appear reasonable at a normal size for the DAZ figures. You can usually use the size parameter to rescale.
Thread: Help! Can't render a Lycanthropos hairy in my poser 7 without it freezing or shu | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Did some tests. To give you an idea of the memory overhead used for that kind of fuzz or hair. Poser can't render that bear in a room with a mirror.
Vue chokes and dies a grizzly death due to a lack of memory on trying to load the scene. That's with 3 gig.

Still on 7 here. Let's see I could spend out $99 to go to P8 and $199 to update Vue and have two products that don't communicate properly or stay where I am. Don't have the $$$ anyways.
I want to wait until the major bug shakedown is done on P8 before getting into it. From what I've seen they've gone through 2 service releases in about as many months so there are still problems.

P4 people and animals are also lower polycount figures. They do well as background figures.
Thread: What drastically increases render times and what can be done about it | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One thin gI've noticed that can drastically increase render time is Hair or fuzz. Lots of fuzz or hair = lots of small shadows. I shudder to think of the render time involved if one put the fuzzy version of the Bedtime sets plush bear into a mirrored room.
Thread: Stoopid, blindly positive comments on gallery images. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The only way I've found to get constructive critisism is to specifically ask for it. If I want, as an example, to get comments on how to improve lighting within a particular scene I'll specifically ask if anyone has a suggestion or recomendation about improving the lighting. That way no one feels put off by making a suggestion. I've also found that doing that it's usually only the people with enough expertise to be a real help that respond to the request. Others continue to post the usual sort of comments.
Thread: Recover overwritten file | Forum: Photoshop
I know this doesn't help with this situation but if you're making major changes and saving often it may help in the future. Always affix a number to the name of the picture. When you've just finished making a change and saving change the number from xxx.01 to xxx.02 etc and save a second time under the new name BEFORE you make the next change. That way if you hit save rather than save as once a change has been made you're saving to a new file anyways. If you hit save instead of save as while you should be making the new file, no change has as yet been made so you're just resaving the same picture version.
Thread: Removing backgrounds | Forum: Photoshop
I'll agree with the above. I once and only once tried to remove a background from a particularly fuzzy teddybear. Trying to not lose fur or end up with blue spots around the cat is going to be a HUGE challenge.
My first thought after trying it was "Maybe next time I'll take a picture of a ball and do this. ;)
Thread: Total Newbie silly question | Forum: Carrara
Doesn't native content get loaded by the loader into Program Files/DAZ/Carrara 3D Express/Content/Runtime ?
I don't think I've ever needed to do other than give the installer for base content the base Carrara directory name.
Any other content you have in DAZ or Poser can be picked up right from where it is.

Check with whoever made the picture you were looking at. I haven't seen where you got the original idea so I don't know exactly what they were doing.
Back 15 or 20 years ago I had a copy of a small program that was more than amazing for a home computer for the time. What it did was allow you to give it 2 pictures then select points that were similar spots on both photos or images. Such as each corner of the mouth would be selected, the corners of the eyes and so on. Things that define the shapes and sizes related to the two faces. Once enough points were selected you could tell the program to run the morph and it would morph the one face or figure into the other.
What you saw if it wasn't a professional film and had the subject stay in one place could have been done with a modern version of just such a program rather than with Poser or DS.
