Thread: Upgrade video card for Vue Complete 11 | Forum: Vue
I have the Geforce GTX 660 that has 2 gigs of RAM on it, also have 16 gigs of SYS RAM. It runs Vue 10C great. this card was an upgrade from a GTX 260 with i think 768MB on it.
As my scenes got bigger the 260 was getting sluggish during scene setup. With the 660 setup is smooth. And my 660 uses less watts and only need one 6 pin power cable.

If your VUE scene setup seems laggy, sluggish. Then you might want to upgrade your card.
Otherrwise Vue does not seem to require much of a card. The rendering is CPU with the exception of Vue infinate wich can do GPU aa if it's needed and choosen.

I also didn't get this email and I just went to E-On since I'm very interested as well, but I don't see it being on sale at all at the moment. Do you actually see the sale price or can you only get to it through an email link?

I7 2600K with automated Over clocking, scene took 3 minutes 55sec to render at final quality.
Vue sees 8 cores when using this 4 core CPU, Whereas the I5 would just show up as 4 cores I think.

Thread: Where do you like watch video tutorials? | Forum: Vue
I like You tube and GAP, because I'm not forced to stream. I can dowload now and view after the dowload completes. My connection has latency and packet loss and streamimg does not work for me.

Thread: Vue 10 Video card memory limit. | Forum: Vue
Quote - Is Vue using all of your 1024MB video RAM now?
I just got this card today and it seemed like a good idea to up the setting.
No it's not using it now, but I've not trying moving around a reallly big complex scene with heavy eco population. I may never need 2GB Vid ram in a scene but if I did need it I would like to set it up now to use it.
Thanks

Quote - You just need to activate the little lock icon in the Object properties panel fo the camera. Yhis way, camera will always be placed above terrains, objects, etc...
thanks I'll try that :)

Thread: Vue Reset Prefs | Forum: Vue
Quote - There are no original settings, really, what is the problem?
Regarding the problem
If I click the PROCEDURAL TERRIAN Icon, the Procedural terrain appears in front of the camera as it should.
Problem is when I hit the STANDARD TERRIAN ICON in a new scene the whole screen becomes red because the point of view is inside the terrian. It's as if the mountain was dropped right on top of the camera.
I had hoped by doing a reset that it would correct that. But problem still remains

Thread: Mufti-Pass Rendering in the lesser versions | Forum: Vue
I had asked this same question elseware. Here is what I was told by Michel Rondberg of D&D creations on facebooks Vue Galleries Group
"I think the thought is this from e-on: Most artist have home pc's. Most studios have power rigs and renderfarms. And since multipass takes a great deal of memory (16gb is sometimes not even enough) it was logical to keep that feature to pro versions only. After all, multipass outputs many things specifically for animations, like g buffer data and velocity passes. Since complete also has less options overall to be set in the render options dialog vs pro, it is another thing that is a problem with keeping things compatible."
