Diane If you take your map made with UV mapper and instead of putting colours on it you put small letters or numbers on it in the places where you suspect that it is out of place. You put the letters or numbers in the triangles on the map as these represent the polys on the model. This way you should be able to see exactly what is going on with your map. Hope this has made it a little more clear if not let me know and I will try and do you an example. Chris-S

Diane try putting small numbers in the polygons on the mapping template that way you should be able to find out what is going wrong. I tried this with a cylinder plus cap map and mine has mapped perfectly. and judging from your map yours should as well. I cannot tell you why it isn't. Hope the numbering works for you. Chris-S

Thread: Caustics | Forum: Bryce
Bones when programs talk about built in caustics I think they are on about reflected light from mirrors, water surfaces and polished surfaces etc some of the calculations can take many many hours rendering same as when radiosity solutions have to be calculated. Chris-S
Thread: Preview of my cheeseworks animation! | Forum: Bryce
Rosh, Why dont you make it into an mpeg check out www.kits.clara.net/img/pp3.mpeg that has nothing to do with bryce but it started as a 200 frame avi weighing in at 5.4Mb. I whacked it through Xing encoder and hey presto it came out as an mpeg at 112k. mind you the quality is crap but I needed It to be very small to upload it. Chris-S

Charles Thanks for the information that is all I needed to know for me to go off and fill in the Buy Now form. and at least now I know that I can get in touch if needed. You will probably be swamped now with animated "talkies" once I get going again. Thanks Chris-S

Thread: Can Somebody Explain "Azimuth"? | Forum: Vue
Azimuth is the angle that you would tilt your head if you looked first at the horizon and then at the sun (if you could keep your eyes in a straight line) and it is expressed in degrees. Dead technical huh!! ;0} Chris-S

Thread: Comments Please | Forum: Bryce
Many thanks for the comments and critique Thank Rosh for your humble little opinion when I did the last render I thought it looked a bit boring. Eric that is the poser angel fish but he got slightly squished around in Max when I was trying to turn him into a cod :-) The plants were made using plant studio which is a good little app but you seem to need a degree in plant biology to know what it is on about half the time. Eshal Thanks for the fish pointers FastTraxx that sand is a bumpmap with sand color laid over it But I agree that it is very flat and way to regular great Idea about adding more terrains going to try that once I have sussed out the problems of the fin transmaps. Chris-S
Thread: how to select the textures for an poser4 figure in bryce 3D | Forum: Bryce
The texture for a poser figure is a bitmap and you need to load it into the picture side of the texture editor as you would any normal texture bitmap. If I remember rightly you have to rotate it by 180 degrees to get it to fit in Bryce 3D (not sure on that though) Chris-S
