Can I ask a question? I don't want this to sound bad, I really don't. I'm not trying to sound mean, and if it comes across that way, then I apologise up front. Why is everyone so concerned about speed when rendering animations? I've read many times in 3D World magazine where professional studios have had to wait for renders. I read about one instance where a single frame of animation for a TV commercial took 16 hours to render on some high powered computers. Multiply that by 30 fps (for video), then multiply that by about 10 seconds of anmation. That is a long time to wait. They didn't freak out about it, why should anyone else. That's how long it took to get the effect that they wanted. I've seen a lot of people come onto a lot of forums and say that 1 hour per frame is way too long for animation purposes. Apparently, from some of the examples that I've seen (like the one above), 1 hour per frame is as fast as all get out. I know it sucks, but sometimes, to get the look that you want, you just have to wait. Again, I apologise if this came across a little harsh. That was not my intention.
Thread: OT. I finally did it. | Forum: Bryce
I actually picked up a 4x5 Wacom Graphire tablet recently for $99 at Circuit City. It's not the best or the largest, but it does what I need it to. Still getting used to it. It's tough.
Thread: Bryce Members meeting in NYC update | Forum: Bryce
Yeah, count me in. I'll make plans for the 14th, and possibly the 15th. As to where...hmmm...dunno. What's a really easy place to find in New York? :^)
Thread: Large format prints | Forum: Bryce
When I printed one of my images at 36" x 24", the resolution was only 100 dpi. A large format image like that is meant to be viewed from a distance, so 100 dpi is usually enough. Mine came out perfectly clear at that resolution. Thought you might like to know. Save you some rendering time.
Thread: That's Bryce, isn't it?! | Forum: Bryce
I've actually printed one of my images at 36" x 24". It cost me $24.95 for one print and it looked gorgeous! Well worth it. @LSD...supposedly Maxwell is going to be making a plug-in renderer for Bryce. I hope that they do (and lower the price for it), 'cause Maxwell is a very nice renderer. I think they only have modules for Maya and...something else. I can't remember right now.

WOW Phil! At first I thought that this was the reference photo that you were going to reproduce in 3D. Outstanding work! Keep us posted on this one. I for one can't wait to see it finished.
Thread: OT- Survey - Screen Res setting, what's yours? | Forum: Bryce
Just switched mine up a few days ago to 1280 x 1024. My wife actually found that if you up the dpi (or ppi) of the screen, from 96 to 120, you can actually have about the same text size as 1024 x 768. We can both read everything just fine.
Thread: Brycer members get-together in NYC | Forum: Bryce
I'm open for whenever. Again, I just need a week or so to get the time off from work. @ Sackrat: My wife and I are still willing to haul you along with us if your still game!
Thread: P6 Dynamic clothing help Please! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Dragontales, In order for the dynamic clothing to show up in Vue, you have to have the Mover plugin. Mover 5 will allow you to import dynamic clothing and dynamic hair with the .pz3 file.

Phil, your thinking of "phat". Which could also stand for "Pretty Hot And Tempting". Which would explain why he (Drac) wants to have everyone's babies.

And I thought the folks over in the Bryce forum were nuts! :^) Studiously ignores first post in this thread.

No problem. It just popped into my head when I read Drac's post, and I thought I would share.

Interesting idea just to do things a little differently. I would make the rat people have the most beautiful architecture of any race. Just to go against what everyone would first think when they see rat people. I would have soaring, majestic cities and the most grand architecture I could come up with.

Peacer, I've only seen part 1 but I have to say that you have an excellent sense of timing. Good job on the film so far!
