I will check around and see if I can't find some consolation at least, since it appears that there are no answers to be had?
Thanks!
Thread: Totally confused(not to mention disgusted)over the "Final Release"!!! | Forum: Vue
AND....when I did open this scene in 6 pre-release, I would run at 82% resources. In Final, the single fae brings it down to 52% on loading....I am getting a major league stiff neck from shaking my head over this latest SNAFU!!!

Oh?
I feel much better now.
NOT!
Are we (the users) the only beta-testers involved with this whole process?!?
And I am not directing this at you, iloco, as I fully realize that you tell it like it is...or isn't...but this is beyond ridiculous at this point!
Off to hopefully find the second-to-last update that almost fixed 6 and reinstalling<<
Thread: Vue 6 unveiled at SIGGRAPH | Forum: Vue
Having just got back from Siggraph(and thanks Elektra for allowing me to take your place in the drooling queue...LOL), I just have one word for VUE6I....
UNBELIEVABLE...
and IMHO well worth the upgrade price...OK! A few more than my promised one word '-)!
I must say I went in with a bit of trepidation, wondering if there would be enough new features for a non-animator/non-XStream user like myself to warrant the $299 listed upgrade price, but all those qualms were quickly dismissed after watching Eran and Rick's demos and catching a bit of agiel's playing around! Hey! The guy can't be "working" the whole time he's there...8-)
The eco-paint "tools" alone may have been enough to sway me, but that is just the tip of the iceberg here. This is a definite no-brainer upgrade and I, for one, can't wait for it to roll out!
Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! But bug--free, of course, too...LOL!

Thread: The 5.10 update | Forum: Vue
Since I have never split anything I'm afraid I can't add anything useful there, but I can say that this is the very first update where I've seen an immediate impact on OOM's! Currently working on a large file that would cause an OOM prior to EVERY fullscreen (1280x1024/volumetric/GI) render(thank goodness still allowing the render to go forth, but necessitating a save following the render and the reopening of the scene for the inevitable tweaking...hehe), but after loading this newest update this problem has vanished!
fingers crossed here

Thread: ----%$#@&*%!!!!-----Daz Madness Strikes Again--!!! | Forum: Vue
DAZ has a thirty day return policy, so if you have purchased something in the less last thirty days and it is now at a lower price just contact the Sales Dept. with the order number to cancel that order. Although...now that I think of it, with it being the weekend and all...and their offices closed, you would have to reorder these items AT THE SALE PRICE before Monday night as well. However, they will gladly credit you for the initial purchase(s)!
Thread: Quickest render? | Forum: Vue
A bit confused as to what exactly you are looking for here? How quick is quick? I see that you have already turned all options off before rendering except for materials, but what is it that you are rendering? And, probably most importantly, what version of VUE are you using and what kind of machine do you have your copy of VUE? installed on?
Thread: annoying Vue5Inf glitch? | Forum: Vue
I've had this happen to me as well, JoeBlack...and it's not, to me anyways, new to this update. Rather...it's usually an indication that VUE (and my 'puter) are telling me that I've just about reached the limit sizewise of what I'm going to be able to do with that particular render...which in my case is just about every one I do...LOL! I realize that this doesn't solve your problem, but just wanted to let ya know that you are NOT alone there '-)!
Thread: Thank You Vue Forum for the Past Assistance | Forum: Vue
Welcome aboard TCopsey, and be sure to leave yourself post-it notes around your 'puter area reminding yourself to check in with the family once in a while...AND...taking a break to eat now and again isn't all that bad of an idea either!LOL!
AND point on, Walther!!! However, not having any meadows where I live to place my DAZ Milhorses, what I find myself doing is walking around Boston after sunset and turning around in circles looking at the different shadows I'm casting from all the assorted streetlights and shop windows and wondering why I can't get these same shadows in VUE without a hundred lights and a five week render '-)!
Thread: How to create footprints and/or fountain splash | Forum: Vue
Afraid I can't be of any help with the splashes as I still battle them myself '-)...although now that I think of it, maybe wabe will join in with "his" technique of mapping vegetation with water .mats to create splashes?
However, for the footprints, assuming you have Poser?, you can use a boolean on the shoes/feet and the terrain as I did in this image...

This, of course, will take a bit of playing around to get what you're looking for, but it may be worth a try?
Thread: OT: If you are sick of Half Naked Vickies... | Forum: Vue
OMG! This is absolutely hysterical AND amazing! Thanks so much for this heads-up, Agiel! heading back to see what more trouble I can get her into here '-)
Thread: Problem logging in to e-on | Forum: Vue
Still no go! I've got it! It must be all the work they are doing on getting Cornucopia3D ready for it's big grand opening '-)! Then again...maybe not? LOL!
Thread: Siggraph 05 | Forum: Vue
Yes! Boston! Yes! All of 10 minutes away from me! Sending my sick notice into the boss right now! LOL!!
Thread: Free Patio Set ready now.... | Forum: Vue
My first thought upon seeing your announcement in the Forum was that I can always use another patio set, but...this IS NOT just another patio set! This IS gorgeous, Sharen! I can already hear my Poser peeps arguing over who gets to sit in this great looking chaise lounge '-)! Thanks so much!!
Thread: Ecosystem help | Forum: Vue
As for "copies of a person textured"...assuming that you are talking imported Poser peeps, they would have to be converted to .vobs first and then added to your eco. Their number and placement can be adjusted as well by playing with density, etc. HTH...steve
