The sad reality is, and it really stinks if you ask me, is that if BSG was on NBC then it would probably go on after the 5 year mark and become MASH or Friends like. Unfortunately the programing execs must be allergic to things that good. But who knows if Heroes works out well...
I kinda mentioned this before, but what I would like to see is a spin-off that sees Earth as a recovering planet sometime in the future and the adventures or what ever you want to call it, of them either fighting off or attempting an uneasy peace with the cylons as they discover their true roots, that the clues that they followed weren't ones from earth but to earth. To cut production costs they can have them land in Vancouver.
A BSG:TM, would just be the thing to knock Star Wars from it's pedestal I think. I'd line up or it in the first week.

Quote - I will be shocked if BSG does not stay on for years and years. The storyline is rich enough for 15 seasons.
I hate to disappoint you, but the current BSG is slated only for 5 seasons max, with talk that season 4 will be it's last. I agree that there is enough storyline for years, and this is where the spinoffs are coming in.
Caprica will be a prequile spinoff based on the early development of the cylons, how they become aware and how the Adama family ties into it all.
I also wouldn't be surprised if a sequeal spinoff happens as well. But they do have to end the series so they can end the contracts of the stars. If they start a new series with the same stars then some contract timers reset. Eventally it becomes too expensive to pay the actors. Part of the reality of SG1 is that even with revenue coming in from action figures, video games, endorsments etc, they will start loosing money on the actor's saleries alone
Quote - Find Earth - It'd be way too big a budget, but what a story that would be. First contact, fighting together against Cylons, the Earth politics involved, the embrace of the BSG technology. Cool stuff.
-- See Galactica 1985, if they do that then there will be a certain part of the community that is just going to go "not again..." .

Khai, maybe you can, but it would take me 2 weeks to do this so it really depends on a person's strengths and weaknesses.

formula to figure out the PPI (pixels per inch) of you monitor
(SQRT(W^2+H^2))/M
square root of the sum of the set monitor resolution width plus the monitor resolution hight divided by digaonal mesurement of the viewing area
Mine is currently 86.27 (1280 x 1024, 19 inch viewing area.)

Thread: Miki 2.0 Ultimate Head Morphs Free Upgrade | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I noticed the free upgrade earlier as well. I'm suspect it's due to the similarities between miki1 and miki2s head. There probably wasn't much work to be done so they decided to be generous with it. It's still awesome as hell though because they could of just the little amount of work needed and still sold it for profit and it would of sold.
The body is considerably different so it would of been just like working from scratch.
As a side note, I noticed that you can use UHM character for Miki1 on Miki2 with UHM. They don't come out 100% the same, but very very close. I just wished the maps worked like that. ohh well...

I heard on 'Slice of Sci-Fi' (podcast) that the lawyer was someone from FireFly. Unfortunately I had the misfortune of completely missing FireFly. Also of note a few of the actors from BSG, as well as the guy who plays Sawyer in Lost, is in the new Command and Conquer game. The show has been good to them
Thread: NUDITY | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Modus, I think you're probably correct, but intentional or not the fact remains that whether it's a trick of lighting or part of the mat, it appears that her areolas are showing through the top.
As much as I don't like the TOS nudity policy, it comes down to the fact that it is just another of the blossoming costs of doing business in the conservative US these days. Kinda make you long for the days of free love don't it...
Huh how about it Karen?
lol j/k, anyhow I'm done blaming Rendo and the Admins here as they are just as much prisoners of the situation as we are. The price of being successful...

Personally I find Claudia Black oddly attractive myself. That is when you find someone attractive, but don't quite know why, may be it has to do with the fact that she has more tight fitting leather in her wardrobe then Viki :/
Anyhow I just thought of an interesting theory that would be cool, but probably way off base. What if the colonists weren't following clues left on a trip TO Earth, but on one FROM Earth. When they get there they find it totally devoid of human life and a planet just finishing a recovery from a nuclear holocaust and that they are the 13th colony.
The whole it happened before and it will happen again would refer not literally to the Cylon attack, but the fact that a man made weapon (Cylons in this case. Nukes in the first case) nearly caused the extinction of humanity causing them to travel across the stars to new planet(s). This could also lead into another spin off of the colonists rebuilding on earth and the Cylons on another planet with an uneasy and oft broken cease-fire.

Thread: Poser version question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What version is the most stable?
Well as with most software the oldest version is usually the most stable since it's had years of patches, support, and shoring up. But for my money the best balance of stablity and features is anxcon said Poser 6. There are a couple patches for it that you may want to get.
First is the content updaters there are 2 of them I think, one for some stuff the default content was missing from the installer, the second would be the Poser 5 content. I don't think that they combined to 2 but they may have. You may be able to do without this if you're not expecting to use the default Poser 6 content too much.
The second patch would be the service release, you do get all previous service releases with the latest one so you only need to download one of those. That can be found on EF's website, it's fairly easy to get to so I wouldn't be to concerned with getting it.
So in short with 6 you can get away with 1 patch if you can live with some missing content for the P6 figures or if you only plan on using bought/existing content at the moment.
hope this helps.

As a side note, although their rigging is different, I've found that their dimentions are near identical which means all dynamic clothing for either character is interchangeable. Also the hair for each works well as long as you parent them to the head instead of conforming it. Everything else, well you may be able to get it to work with tweaks and tricks, but I've had little to no luck with any of it.
I guess you could re-rig all the clothing by hand and resave a miki2 version, but that was a little much for me.
Thread: A Figures Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
the one rule that I use is to not mix figures from different sources, ie If I want a female character in a scene with James I will look to Jessi or Miki (don't have p7 so Syd is not an option) If it's M3 that I'm matching up then it's V3, or SP. I've found that mixing Daz meshes with CP meshes throws the whole look of the scene off, kind of like using a CG character in a scene with a cell shaded one and trying to make them blend. It's possible with enough work, the right materials/lighting/etc, but unless there is something that is requiring to use those 2 specific characters it's best to change one.
