Thread: PhilC - BIG problems with Wardrobe Wizard & Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
blonderella: Only speaking for myself, I think my above posts were obviously stated in that I too am busy and that's why I post only on a few sites, mainly this one. That way all my notes and responses stay in one easy to find place. Also, at no time did I say I wasn't happy with PhilC or his program. You are implying that just because people post here something is wrong with that. In my case, that's certainly NOT true, as it's simply a matter of time and convience. I'm happy with the support PhilC gives and know he's working hard to answer questions and fix problems when he knows what to fix. Certainly in no way negative here. PhilC: I'll try what you said and get back with you. Thanks for the help and reply, still trying to figure this out too and I'm sure we can both get this to working. Also, I know what you mean about the python script window and it still works like you said, so just one of those little annoying issues with Poser 5 I guess. So, we can check that issue off the list. Others: For those that have asked: I have 2GB of Corsair XMS Pro memory so I know it's not a memory issue. Most likely just a Poser 5 issue like PhilC said. You can work around that, just a little annoying but nothing major to worry about. Thanks for the tips though.

I didn't say "looses focus", that was the other user I was quoting which I said my problems were like. The reason I didn't post to the yahoo groups is I didn't know there was one until now. I keep busy and thus usually only check a few sites. That's why I usually post here so I have one place to check my messages and keep track of some past posts too. The "looses focus" I assume the user was referring to the WW script window can become grayed out like an inactive window, even though it still is and appears to freeze-up for 10-20 seconds between clicking one of the menu items (doesn't matter what). I've tried using the realism python script from another author and it works just fine with none of these issues. The main issue though is that nothing seems to work like I stated no matter what I try. Converting from a standered V3 to a custom morph V3, S3 to V3, etc. Basically, everything I said in my first post.

"WW 1.29 in Poser 5 , Python window loses focus after every action, time varies between 10 secs and up to a few minutes after which I usually give up. This renders WW totally useless in P5. WW 1.29 in Poser 6 , never loses focus but even the simplest change in a figure requires a lot of adjusting afterwards, looks like I paid $39 to keep doing what I already did." I'm having this same trouble too with Poser 5 (current patches) for Windows. I've read the tutorials and still can't get it to work on any of my V3 to morphed V3 or S3 to V3 or V3 to S3 or S3 to morphed S3. Maybe PhilC can tell me and some others what's going on because so far I can't get anything to work just like you. This is VERY frustrating to say the least for an expensive program. I hope it's a simple fix.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read my post and help out with your replies. I will keep you posted on how it turns out. Shouldn't be too hard now, as I have a little better grasp on some things to double check.

Problems with the forum and general site issues as well. I think they need to upgrade the servers and bandwidth more or else you will see this. Other sites haven't caused any slowness yet due to their bandwidth not being pushed to it's limits like here. Best of luck geep and please PM me too if you find a new home.

cobaltdream: "also, the biggest problems emerge when you look at her from any angle besides the front." I couldn't agree more. What I wanted to do involved looking at V3 from several angles and required nudity. While I know some don't think nudity replication is an issue, I always argue that even if you pose your characters fully clothed you can't have a true replication of the human body without it. So, to make a long story short, I stoped my development of poses and a couple of items for V3 for this very reason. There's no way to make V3/S3 look realistic. Then I started to wonder why no one had ever given Daz any real compeition to their figures. Poser is capable of MUCH more than Daz has ever done or is likely to do. Then I found this thread and what was being done. WHOW, what a wonderful feeling. Somone that actually cares about what other want to see and putting their heart into the project fully. Seraphira has my support already!! :)

Looks good from what little I understand. I would love to see a better figure than Daz V3/S3 out there on the market. What I'm looking for is a more realistic figure with full genital, hip, buttock morphs that can be put in any pose position without coverup of the hip/genital areas. The V3/S3 are good, but doing sitting or croutching poses hides any detail of the genital area or some buttock areas. It just won't allow you to make a real life human pose in some positions. Also, the Daz figures just don't have the required meshes in those areas. They were left out of the design. I would love to see someone come along and give us an alternative to Daz figures that are more detailed and real. Many of us have powerful computers with 2+ GIG of ram, fast processors, etc. waiting for something new. Also, I think it's high time we get someone competing with Daz so we get improvements from all parties. A sort of look what I did, now top this sort of thing. Your figure looks like an excellent start and I can't wait to see the final product. Keep up the good work and let us know when and where we can get it. Cheers!

Thread: Help me decide, better software or figures needed for my nudes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
richardson - Thanks for the tips and everyone else as well. No, I won't show anything like that on the site here, I think your right the rules won't allow it. It was mainly for my own use because I wanted to see how realistic a pose could be. It's still amazing to me how much more work could be done to the V3 figure itself for improving, espcially the genitals. Rather or not someone chooses the more "detailed" pose work or not you just can't have a realistic human figure without such details being there in the first place. I think you are correct, as that's what I've found out. There just isn't enough detail in the hip/buttock area and genital area of the V3/S3 figures. That's why I'm getting the distortion I am even with Magic Perfect G add-on for V3/S3. Another guy told me the same thing, as we are both having the same issues. I'll keep my eyes open for the new figures. I really think there's a market for more detailed figures that could give Daz some REAL competition. Heck, I wouldn't mind paying 2-3 times the price of Daz V3/S3 if it was exactly realistic and FULLY posable from all angles. Thanks again everyone for the help, I'll keep everyone posted on how things turn out and what I'm trying.

richardson: Thanks for letting me know about those items. I really think the biggest issue I have right now isn't the fact I'm not satisified with Poser 5 renders but rather the feeling of incompletness of V3/S3 from Daz. I just don't see how you can have realistic human models if they leave out the genital design. Adding them on after doesn't provide the same results as putting them into the mesh from the ground up. What you end up with is a patch, which doesn't cut it in some pose types. I'll give your suggestions a shot and see what I come up with. I wouldn't mind getting something higher-end if I knew it wouldn't mean spending months to create my own figure. Hopefully, Daz will put genital morphs and maps in their V4, S4 and M4 figures when they update them in the future. You just can't have a realistic model without the whole body. Thanks for the input on this.

Thread: Help solving V3 issues with sitting poses | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mav: I got your morphs to work for hip/thigh adjustment. However, I'm still not getting quite the results I hoped for. It's not your fault, but rahter V3 figure itself. It would seem that V3/S3 and maybe all of Daz's figures have this issue. You can get good poses most of the time, except for extreme sitting or squatting poses. One example is that of a softball catcher I'm doing. You can get it to look pretty good squating with with cloths on which covers up some things, but the figure itself without cloths looks un-natural and distorted. I haven't seen any pose yet, for sale or otherwise, that has a realistic crouching or sitting pose nude. The base model of V3 seems like where the problem is. You can get GREAT results with or without cloths on a V3 model for kneeling, laying down or standing. But sitting and croutching poses, especially more extreme, seem to be what distorts the V3 figure the most. Like I said, cloths cover up some or most of the imperfections, but nude you can see them plenty. The leg thighs and hip is where you see it most. Thanks for the input and help.

Thanks for all the tips, I'll work on them and see what I can work out. Just an FYI, but the Maveris buttock fix over at RDNA.com doesn't work in Poser 5. I tried several times and it won't install or show up in my Poser library. Also, there's something strange because I couldn't locate the files after un-ziping with WinZip in my Poser 5 directory. I had to do a Windows search to find the files and could delete them that way, but they don't actually show up where the search says they are located. Maybe there's something wrong with the .zip archive, I don't know. But in any case, there's certainly something wrong with these files. Thanks, I'll try to let people know what works out best once I find out. It may take some time. :)

Thanks everyone for the replies, it sounds like the RNDA file is what I need to look at. I'll try it tomorrow and let everyone know how it goes. That sounds like the exact problem I was having, putting the legs to 60-90 degree angle (which can be done in real life like a double leg karate kick with full extension) then having the left and right buttock part of the figure distort the front leg making the thigh look bigger. I may have confused some people in a mistake I made in my first post. It wasn't the buttock I was having troulbe with, that was the figures actor part name, but rather how the upper thigh would buldge out when bent. I've even seen this on some marketplace pose sets here. That's why I think the RDNA will help. Dr Geep, If you have any tips on sitting poses that would be great. They seem very complex off hand trying to learn how. I already had the TAOP PDF tutorial on posing and it's very good. However, it mentions nothing on sitting poses and information on them is hard to find. Thanks again everyone, I'll let you know how this works out.
