Thread: Best option for M3 clothing to Freak 4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
you will probably need a converter as well, because Morphing Clothes only injects the morphs from a figure.
the three apps i know of are:-
Wardrobe Wizard by Philc ( built into the new P8 ) but can still buy standalone.
Clothes Converter
Crossdresser (available at EvilInnocence, need to buy 'convert to' licences for each figure. 'convert from' are free and come in 'support packs' the app itself is free.
i use Crossdresser with Morphing Clothes, but i believe the other two may give more control over the conversions.

check your facts, Wolf359. the SDK is now free ( both of them, the little one which allows you to unlock certain things and write utility scripts and the main one which allows you to rewrite the actual code of the app, if you want, plus create plug-ins etc)
Thread: Free Stuff ...its now a clickfest | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
yep! a major PITA. file numbers instead of basic descriptive filename? royal screwup!
would have to rename every freebies filename for backup purposes. when the creator has already given it a descriptive name? which Rendo now ignore and stick a number on it?
they have not just shot the foot, they've blown their leg off
personally i do not mind the extra clicks and ads for a quality freebie, but not all freebies are of the same calibre.
and having to rename every file is a major PITA.
whoever it was in the office that implemented this fubar has no idea how to keep clients/customers happy and should either be sacked or sent back to business school.!
Thread: DS Advanced vs Poser 8? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
well i have used both Poser 5 and various versions of Studio and i find Studio far more intuitive to use. to me the Poser interface is very clunky and counterintuitive. the thing that is missing from Studio is a useful dynamic cloth facility. the Optitex dynamic cloth may be technically superior, but the files are huge and the cloth cannot be scaled.
(the Poser set-up is superior in that scaling seems to work.
plus you can usually take a conforming cloth into the cloth room and convert it to dynamic.)
plus Studio3 Advanced is already fully 64bit ( and not just the render engine )and only a few plug-ins are yet to be brought over. it has GI, IDL , comes with an HDR image converter for use in lightdomes ( IBL).
has a 'material room' ( shader mixer and shader builder ) i have no experience in these as yet, but by all accounts a lot of content developers have said it is easier to use than the Poser Material Room.
and with lights you can look through them to see exactly where they are aimed.

why should they? the problem is in the scaling functions, Poser is built on old code. if it does not scale properly it is up to the app's coding/development team to rewrite the code that deals with scaling to bring it up to modern software standards.
how many Poser content vendors made the effort to optimise their products for use in DS?
has Smith Micro made sure that their figures work properly in Studio?

joshua&morris Trey character has good displacement and bump maps, as does jepes Sang character.
there is also the M4 Displacement map set available at Daz3D.
bootleggers also has good displacement maps for non-figure

you can also make presets.
you only need to tick all the little morph boxes once and add it to presets with a name.
do that after using the script, and you are good to go for all future clothing that you want the morphs in.

Thread: why is texture filtering on the DAZ figures an issue these days? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
as you so clearly say, BB, a person with the handle 'yannek' created the textures, under commision , i would presume. so, the problem with the texture is because the creator did not take the texture a few pixels outside the uv map. i have no argument with that.
if there is a problem with a texture and names are mentioned, the creator 's name or none should be stated. not having a dig at a company for the sake of it.
i am sure if these seam problems had shown up in testing, they would have been sorted before release.
as a company, they are a marketplace, they buy some products, commission some, and they sell products on a commission basis. they do not create content.
