Thread: After QuickTime5 upgrade, Bryce5 won't render animation! | Forum: Bryce
Wolf359 (hangs head), that was a dark day for The Federation huh? To answer your question I hadn't tried any other apps to see, but I may try some of them now that you mention it. I just installed the B5.1 patch and got the same message when selecting a folder to save the .mov file. It basically says "QuickTime is missing some elements that make it unable to complete this function. Checking the QuickTime Server to see if they are available.". This message came up ONCE, the first time I tried to render animation and it came up ONCE after the update. Unfortunately I was not online when it "searched the Quicktime server" so it said it was unavailable. When I did go online and tried again NOTHING HAPPENED and the dialog never reappears to search the QuickTime server for the missing elements. I'm about ready to do a complete reinstall and update rather than pay Corel (which I own stock in) for one stupid tech support question.

Thread: Looping Sky Animation? | Forum: Bryce
I believe you could create a sky loop by doing some post render editing in a movie editing program. As long as the editing program allows you to "cross dissolve" film clips. What you want to do basically is dissolve the end into the beginning. This should effectively dampen the abrupt jump from start to finish. Let's say you have a good ten seconds of sky animation. What you have to do is use two clips of the same scene. Using the editing program of your choice, insert the first clip, but start it from 5 seconds in. Next, lay in the other clip overlapping the first clip by a few seconds. Note: you may have to select a "dissolve effect" depending on the app you are using. Next, chop the last five seconds off the second clip. Render your movie and you should have a smooth transitional loop of the sky slightly longer than your original clip. Experiment with the length of the dissolve to see what works best. It's not the most elegant solution but it should work. Good luck with it.

windoctor? I'm on a Mac, not a PC. Sorry, I should have made that clear. I will try running Norton Disk Doctor and see if that helps.
Thread: Feel my pain, oh feel my pain | Forum: Bryce
OOOOOOOOOOUUUUUCCCCCCCHHHHHHHH! How's that? ;-) I always do a save before I start a render. On a long render I may stop the render in the middle and do another save, then hit resume render. Try putting little "post-it" notes around your screen that say "SAVE ME!", maybe that will help remind you, hehe. Better luck next time.

Yes the Spikes in the old terrain editor works pretty good. For more detailed grass 3dplants.com is the place for free grass meshes.
Thread: Anyone tried Mojoworld? | Forum: Bryce
Uh...duh...I don't know how I missed that, and I looked for it too. Thanks. (skulks away to mojoworld forum)
Thread: Vicky has no eyes in Bryce | Forum: Bryce
Yikes, Don't delete the eyeball! The part that is coming out white is the "outer layer" of the eye that the other three parts fit into. You have an Eyeball, Eye White, Iris and Pupil. If you select each mesh separately in Bryce the Eyeball is usually L or REye_1_1. Select just this mesh for left and right eye and apply a thin glass texture to it. Turn down the reflections to 1 or 2 and turn up the specularity a bit. This will give you beautiful Vicki and Michael eyes in Bryce. You can even save that texture as a preset for the next time you import Vicki. Deleting the Eyeball is a cop out fix and you lose much of the depth and detail you would otherwise get. On another note, don't forget to add the Transmaps to your eyelash and eyebrow textures too. Good luck.
Thread: Vicky 2.0 custom character distribution, the legal way! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's right guys, Vicki 2's CR2 cannot be redistributed. That means given away or sold. What you CAN sell for Vicki 2 is her PZ2 file, which is a pose file. Using text editing program you can create a custom MAT.pz2 file that contains basic info from the CR2 file and material data. You also need to make edited OBJ files for all affected body parts. This involves eliminating a number of morph targets and parameters. MorphMasher and BBEdit are useful for this. Babette and Brianon were tricky because they are meant to work with Vicki 1&2 but were created using Vicki 1. They both took weeks of work to get right. Creating a characters for Vicki 2 alone should be easier, mine were meant to be crossovers. They are the first and probably the last of their kind. Still confused? Contact Steve Kondris at daz3d.com (broker@daz3d.com) for more info on how to do it.
Thread: DAZ Fantasy Armor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just got the DAZ fantasy armor set and it's pretty frappin cool, sorry Vicki only though. One ray of light from DAZ3D is that they are releasing Victoria 2 next month and she will be able to wear ALL of Posette's clothes and vice versa. I can't wait to see her.

Thread: calling all NYC area Poser artists | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's a good point Scarab, and I will be looking for artists from all over the world in the next phase of this project if the first phase is successful. The reason I need NYC area artists is that in the event that an office is created I may need staff. At the very least it affords me the opportunity to meet the people I might be working with. If you meet the requirements though feel free to send me an email, I won't rule you out. I'm in complete agreement with you that some guy in Honolulu could do the same job just as well. I live in NYC, which is where this project is based that's why I need NYC artists, there are also a hell of a lot of talented artists here.
Thread: Facial expressions for Mike and Vicki are back!... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yup, they are fc2 files. We got all the bugs ironed out thanks to daz3d and they come with an installer now too so no more messing around in folders. These are worth buying this time nitreug, sorry you had problems last time. They work with the latest Vicki and Mike updates (available free from daz3d) without any error messages. Both PC and Mac versions are available hassle free.
