Thanks, very much. Because it was a job and not a Bryce challange I wasn't at all careful about mixing medias. So, in the case of the fire (exploding building) it was taking waaay too long to get what I needed only using Bryce so I prerendered volume clouds and composited them in Painter6 and did some paint work on top of it all. Thanks again for checking it out.

MartinC, you're playin' my song, man! I got all ready for the usual let down when I saw "unfortunately" but surprise, surprise, Mac-only is the phrase that pays. Sorry, I started channeling a DJ. So I'll go to the link and check it out. Thanks. deci6el

What about going the other way. I wanted to import a poser guy into Bryce and, of course, it doesn't recognize the bum file. Photoshop doesn't recognize it either. Is it as simple as converting the color texture to black and white and doing a negative?

It's definitly the reflection of the sky or veg showing up in the water, that's why it goes away when you change camara angle. Changing your bump will change the shape of those circles but the colors will always be there in some form so long as it is reflective.

Thread: Join The Bryce 5 Tree Lab Club | Forum: Bryce
Heard at Siggraph that they are going to do a patch to the tree lab that will make it more fun for all of us. So fir trees come up more like fir trees without having to do a lot of dial tweaks. Don't know if there's more too it, very noisy on the trade floor. Don't know when it will happen.

My book "Life in the Coal Mines" was really boring until I added a nude woman. That really spiced things up. My next book will be entitled "One Million Nude Women". It's about one million nude women who wander aimlessly through the desert in search of a place to sit down. -reference to a "Beyond the Fringe" skit (Pre-Monty Python)

Yes, sometimes you gotta 'cause its hard to get around to everybody. Very nice picture, complete setting with good character poses. Pond of blood for that creepy "who or what just died?" feeling. Beautiful AND scary. One tiny suggestion, if you don't mind; the predators I've seen have a very wet lizardy skin. You might think about bringing your specular up on the skin. Just a thought.

making a "dummy" object would be nice. Low poly count for the choreography process and then replace it with the real thing for the render. Great looking set. What about the cost? Is this something your trying guage if people already have clients who would need such a thing? It would have to be reasonably priced to fly in the hobbyist market. Good Luck

August 7 and yes, we are only discussing the rules at this point. But maybe that's a good thing.
Thread: The Monthly Challenges-Rules Reminder | Forum: Bryce
I haven't been at this forum for very long. This was my first challenge that I entered (on time) and I was able to find the rules and read them a few times to make sure I was in spec. What better way to learn what the rules are than to be held to them. It might be disappointing BUT how dissappointing to the person who played by rules who would have won? The FAQ is in plain site for everyone. That should be enough. Doesn't that seem fair to Everybody? You don't want to punish the people who do pay attention.
