twillis, why did you order a copy if you already have the old cararra. You can download a free upgrade from metacreations to eovia studio on thier website. Am I missing something? Will the retail version be more complete?
Thread: V2 eyebrow chaos!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
just to add alittle to what jkeller said...only add the transmap to the UPPER EYEBROW...the one labeled EYEBROW uses the head texture. I personally like to remove the eyeborws from the head texture so as not to interfere with the upperbrow trans map. You'll get it.

Thread: Digital Photo vs. Regular Film Photo | Forum: Photography
Correct me if I'm wrong..the ammount of light required for a digital capture is greater than that of analog(depending on film, of course). As far as I know, the range of available aperature settings is less with digital than with analog. As far as producing a better picture, I think it heavily depends on your subject matter (for this debate). For a studio setup I'll take digital everytime. For landscape, I like the old gear. I would rather lug a 8x10, with film and holders, around the sticks than a $50,000 setup with laptop, batteries, wires and who knows what else. Thats just me though. Now, If its just snapshots, and memories....how can you pass on the convienence of digital? Win win situation I guess.

Posers main deficiency is the lack of diffusion map support. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING in the real world has SOME ammount of diffusion. You would be amazed at the difference a diffusion map makes. All those little details Director was talking about can be achieved with diffusion maps. Poser 5 wish list hint, hint. Not quite Final Fantasy, but good enough for me. (for right now)This is the most realistic poser figure I have created, rendered in lightwave, and can be seen here.Thread: how can I make Hi-Res figure ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Its all abbout getting yourself some HIGH quality High Res texture and bump maps. You can either buy some good ones or make them your self (cake1 tutorial) freeones don't cut it.....unless you can modifiy it.

There is one in the freestuff at 3dcommune. unfortunately the link is broken. (It says that they will post it a renderotica when it is back up) I mention this because it looks like a great texture, and maybe with enough e-mail response it will be posted soon.

Thread: Help!!! Is there a way...... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A standard lens length for portrait photography is anywhere from 100-150mm. I usually set my camera to 110mm this gets rid of any distortion caused by the camera. So if your figures still look funny you will have to adjust their scales. Camera angle also has alot to do with it. Often times the camera will be placed low to give the effect of size. this can be bad for portraiture (CAN BE) It is called the keystoning effect , the lower body will be bigger than the top. the opposite is also true. maybe you are experiencing this problem. for a full body shot I usually place my camera just below eye level. hope this helps.
