Cool. Skip the fog (Four elements?) and put in a fog cube(s) or squished spheres and play with the densities of the fog. I'm a big fan of leaving people in the dark! If the ambiant lighting could comes down a bit, people have to 'guess' what's around the corner. This scene is begging for a light cone. Is that skeletons leg going through the floor? :>) Just my thoughts.... Mark
Thread: Tree Druid to Bryce from Carrara? Yep! | Forum: Carrara
Exported as OBJ. All texturing done in Carrara and then 'remapped' in Bryce. Texturing groups are already assigned via the Tree Druid plug-in. Just click and run. Mark

I'll have to plug Eric's (Digital Carvers Guild) shaders since he didn't. They've made transparency issues much faster with 'off the shelf' index of refraction values etc. Worthy stuff! Mark

I can only speak for the Carrara plug-in version but it is powerful and easy to work with. Check out the on line manual for screen shots and features. For the little bit of time that I've used it, all I can say is WOW. I've been waiting for this for two years on the Mac platform. I didn't count but there are close to fifty plant presets that are already grouped for easy texturing (shapes of the leaves are editable), adjustable by season (quantity and amount of leaves that drop) and other features like 'sunlight' that I haven't had a chance to check out yet. Best bucks I've spent in awhile. Mark

Also, in the render room, make sure that you have 'light through transparency' checked. Mark

The tree presets are seasonal so that winter has no leaves. You can adjust wind, gravity etc. but I haven't played with it to the extent of 'gnarling' trees. Mark

Eliminate the transparency, designate the color white and keep the blur. With the loss of transparency you'll probably want to use the value slider (or assign white as the glow color) in the glow channel and play the Aura control in the scene settings filter tray. Mark

I suppose the easiest would be to import the Poser OBJ file with no texture map, then make sure 'None' was selected on the color option in the shader multi channel tray, play with the value slider in the trancparency channel, and finally add a 'blur' value of 4 to 10 in the object filter tray. Mark
Thread: Mark - Which version of Tree Druid!? | Forum: Carrara
It is the plug-in version for Carrara. Haven't messed with texture maps in bryce yet (something about using the day to earn money) but the objects import A-ok. Mark

Thread: Is this supposed to happen? | Forum: Carrara
Regrettably, unless you want to pay some serious money, the 'cost effective' packages do not support radiosity or cautics.

On the 'table' draw a parametric circle underneath the sphere. Then, assign a multichannel shader with everything set to none except the glow channel. Implement a max scaled ripple shader and adjust as required to acheive best aura. Mark

Convert the defalt 'multilayer' shader to a 'layerlist' found under the complex shader heading. This will allow you top map specifically to one side of an object ata time with whatever kind of shader that you want to use. It's a blast. Unfortunatly, anything I had that resembled spare time has been eaten alive playing with Carrara. Mark
Thread: Render: Poser vs. Carrara (a first attempt) | Forum: Carrara
There needs to be some light coming in from the window. That will create the 'skimmer' light you need to define the womans outline against the floor background. Mark
