To Mikan. Yes, you're right about the eyes...the window to our soul. Eyes definitely are VERY important in conveying mood and emotion. I posted an image of my brother in my gallery called "A Glimpse of Me," and here, his eyes were what made the image, at least IMHO. There is a huge challenge in doing a portrait of someone whose eyes are closed, and I do like challenges!!! I guess the reason i so much want to get this one right is because I felt so protective of him here...guess because he's my baby brother. He works SO hard and sleeps very little. This was taken 2 years ago...the last time i saw him. He was just exhausted. And I was happy to see a look of peace on his face. Finally he was resting. Look at his posture. See how his right shoulder is slumping. This was after we had eaten Thanksgiving dinner!!! LOL! Anyway, thank you for your feedback. Glad you understand about portraits being hard to do when it's of someone you're close to. I thought I was the only one who had problems with that. Logiloglu, thank you!!!!! I appreciate everyone's input!!! TV

it's difficult to do a portrait of someone we know intimately, at least for me. I wonder if I'm seeing/feeling the mood/emotions because he's my brother and I know him so well. It's hard to be objective. That's why I posted it here. Thanks, LP

i like this a lot! I am very much into mine shots, although i find them to be quite difficult. It's a very expressive piece. The ghostly image of the miner has a big impact on me. i like the blue tones in the tracks. great work. i can't help too much with the technical aspect; i'm just a beginner. but i like what i see. :)

i THINK i MIGHT be able to figure out how to add the bubbles, and i probably will one day, but for now, i so much love it like this. When I look at this i still feel myself floating in water. yeah, cindy...to dream by...very comforting to me.

glad you both like it! Michelle...you're right. they're feathers. i guess i just see it differently. I look at this and feel i'm underwater...floating...moving with the flow of the current. maybe i'm just out there in my own little world, huh???!!! :) thanks you both again for your input!
Thread: Which do you prefer? | Forum: Photography
no way can i choose. I gotta tell you how much I LOVE this capture! It's magical! It's face and eyes are so full of expression. and so are its hands...so graceful. and it's so aware of you.! ok...i'll try to pick. if you told me i could only have one of these, i would choose the 2nd one. i think the deep burgandy gives it better contrast. Or maybe it's because this would match perfectly in my bedroom which is burgandy and green...and i have an empty spot on my wall. :) if it were me, i would post them both!!!
