Actually Vue doesn't seem to crash. Looks like it's "just" hanging. After the last one I got out to get something to eat and when I returned I could go on with my work. Strange thing! Hope someone from e-on reads this. could be of some use for the next beta update. ;o)

I'm getin' nuts!!! I'm in transparencies now. Used one of the transparency tuts which can be found under the tutorial section. It's very well described and very good to be understood. But Vue freezes as soon as I apply the transparency map and start to do some more changes within the trnsaprency menue. :((( But no I WILL NOT give up!!!

Mike, forget to mention that the Y-prob seems to be fixed within the Mac version. You know I don't want to complain all the time. Usually that's not my attitude ;) You know, I'm just kinda unhappy to do all this remapping stuf which I hoped to leave behind after buying Vue. I'll keep you and the rest of the Vue gang updated with the results. :)

Mike, I can't say "thankyou" enough for your help. I decided to finish this texturing thing of my "Proposal"-image by today evening. Altough it's a "pain in the ass" -please excuse this emotional release- I hope to get this done. Can't wait to have the great usabilty you PC users have with Vue. Anyway this might be the revenge of Bill Gates since I always talk bad about M$ and his head. lol Phil

Mark, I ordered mine at http://www.innotech-mailorder.com/ This is a German mailorder. The delivery is made by the Deutsche Post. Works quite good! Since the whole site is in erman this might be a little difficult if you don't speak German. I downloaded the PDF at http://www.innotech-soft.com/seiten/its/bestell.htm and sent them the printed document via fax. No problems at all. You can also call them under 07031-7561-0. Maybe they can get an English version as well. Mine is German. But I think I could install the English version as well. But I think the English version is better for your needs, because the manual is in English. ;) Phil P.S. BTW. I paid EURO 255,- plus shipping.

Mike, since I'm still at work I couldn't test the other file formats. My Mac should handle all the mentioned file formats. You know, Macs are the ideal machines for all grafic and art related purposes. I love these computers. You should give them a try. But I gotta warn you: "Once you go Mac, you never go back." :)))

Mike and Eric, guess I'll reinstall Vue without updating to Beta again. Maybe this helps. Gonna keep you updated with the results. Gotta finish the image asap since I have to finish the invitation. I'm still in the learning process, but I hope to improve my knowledge quite fast. Without this great community it wouldn't be as easy as it is right now. Many thanks for all the great hints and help. You guys are really special! PhilThread: Problem opening Poser files (Mac) | Forum: Vue
Thank you very much for all your hints/answers. I'll try this OBJ conervsion thing and keep you updated with the results. I did this several times with Bryce (see my Gallery), but never used a complex scene like this before. So please keep your fingers crossed ;o) Cheers, Phil

Oh nooo!!! I can't believe it. This must be a bad joke... Why didn't anybody tell me about the fact you need a version of Poser which isn't available yet? :o((( Since I can't wait until the OSX version of Poser will be released I'll have to do the good old OBJ-conversion thing.... Is it as complicated as doing it with Bryce (like putting all needed textures in one directory and afterwards do a "remapping")? Any hints/help highly appreciated. ;) Does anybody know when CL will release the OSX version? Nathany, thanks for the idea of asking a PC user to do the import. Unfortunately the Poser file of my image is about 60MB. So there might be no chance to get this don through email :( Anyhow I'll try to import my Poser figures using the OBJ-import. Please let me know if there are any things I have to keep in mind to get it done. And many, many thanks for your responses. This community is really fantastic! Phil aka The Winged One

Yippiiiiieeeehhhh!!!! I just placed my order for Vue 4. Feels like being a six year old boy the night before christmas! So watch out for the first renders posted in my gallery. The final version of "The Proposal" will be my first Vue image. ;o)))Thread: A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM E-ON! | Forum: Vue
Greeeeaaaat!!! I've waited so long for this day! Will there be any special prices available through the web? Something like a mac introduction price ;o) Since I can't go to SF while working in good old Germany this would be really cool! How many days is the time of delivery? Best wishes, Phil
Thread: Vue 4 for MacOSX released @ MacWorldExpo in SF?!? | Forum: Vue
Kate, just a hint from a Mac geek... Leave your credit card at home. Macs can be definately addictive! I know what I'm talking about. I started my computer carrer with a PC, but switched to Mac during university. And I'll never go back if I have to. And after the release of Mac OSX it's have been getting even worse. I really look forward to your report. Phil aka TheWingedOne (Who'd like to go to SF, too. But has to stay in Germany, cause he's gotta go to work to earn some bucks to get Vue 4 for his Mac. lol)

Sharen, I definately will love it... I've seen some many great pictures made with this wonderful program. That's why I'm as impatient as a kid waiting for Santa ;o)

LaurieA: I started working with a PC but during university I switched to the Apple platform. And I'll never ever get back to a PC... :o)))
