I'd advise starting with just Poser4 (pro pack is an addon that requires you to already have Poser4 installed). ProPack is mainly to enable Poser to work with several other rendering and modelling apps. As to how to make your own models, there are numerous free tutorials on that posted in a number of places...

That's what I was thinking too when I read all the threads posted here in the last few months about people wishing Poser5 would come out toorrow... I'd rather they take their time and come up with something that's worth the price of upgrading. I'd rather continue with 4 than use a rushed-and-not-quite-ready Poser5. Amy looks like someone jabbed a pencil into her boob all the way to the eraser (even looks like they're starting to deflate a little). And whatever is happening to her other nipple, I hope she gets to a doctor before it's too late. If she keeps up like that, Posette isn't going to want her hands back...

I was hoping that someone would come out with something like this for a while. But you really do need to switch the front and back around. It'll go nicely with my Prayer rug/poses set (also in freestuff)...

So far, I've never had any trouble at all downloading from PW.

Curious Labs doesn't like when people sell it on Ebay, but if you do manage to get one there, you'll have to fillout a transfer of ownership form (to be signed by the person you bought it from) to transfer the license into your name. (Someone at the poser newsgroup bought one that way).

Even if it's not available in your country, you can order it online (which can be delivered anywhere in the world). Besides CL, you can also order it from Amazon.com and Daz. I'd recommend getting it from daz because they include a free copy of their sampler CD with it and a $30 voucher for their store. All 3 charge the same price (US$ 219). If you really can't come up with that much then try to find one of the magazines with the poser CD in it (all of which cost under $10), which is a very economical way to get your foot in the Poser door (plus you'll be eligible to upgrade to 4 for only $99). I know $219 is a lot for some people (including myself), but once I finally scraped it together and ordered Poser I was glad i did, because It may cost a lot of money, but it's definitely worth it.... Also, check with Ebay. Sometimes Poser comes up for sale there (but the bidding goes up real fast when it does, even for poser 1, 2 and 3...

I'm going to wait till it's already been out for several months before I even think about getting it. Wait and see what everyone says about it, good and bad. Then see how much an upgrade costs, test-drive the demo a nd decide if it's worth the cost to upgrade. (besides, I still haven't got Poser 4 figured out completely yet...

It goes with some .obj files. I'm not sure what it does, but you should put it in the same folder as the .obj (if it isn't there already)...

They didn't actually get rid of their Poser 4 demo. they changed it to a combined Poser 4/ pro-pack demo.

I'm paying $29.95 for cable (as aoopsed to $49.95 for DSL and dial-up is $19.95 for the first 150 hrs and $1 per hour thereafter. So cable is actually cheaper.

I dunno if cable modems should be excluded though; I have cable and sometimes i get some real slow connections... I got it coz it's cheaper than the dial-up...
