Hi Estruch,
Is it my file you're having problems with? If so then I noticed the same problems at first, although I /thought/ I'd got it fully fixed with the one I posted once it's set up as described in the Readme file. It won't look right in the preview window or walking in place, but it should look okay moving along a walk path.
My apologies if it's still not working (and walking) even after following the Readme file instructions. I'll have to go back and check it again, because if you've got problems then I'm sure other people have as well.
Try applying the pose file directly to the cat once you've got your walk path set up and your walk applied. The pose is in the Pose library under WalkDesigner, called 'Cat Walk'. You need to reapply it every 30th frame (i.e. once on frame 1, once on frame 31, once on frame 61, and so on). Once you've done that it should behave itself.
I've got a more detailed description of that workaround at home. If you need it then post here or IM me, and I'll get it to you once I'm back there and don't have to wake anybody up to get at the computer, which is likely to be tomorrow morning UK time.

I posted a reply to this, but through the wonders of modern digital technology it got eaten. :p EnglishBob, thank you for your suggestions. I think I've checked for doubled vectors, but the PC creaks and groans when I'm zoomed right in so I might have missed a couple of spots when I was merging the points at the corners. I've mailed the file to Steve Shanks, but if an answer still proves elusive perhaps I might IM you then for an email address and send you the file? Foleypro, thank you also for the idea. I don't know Truespace at all, but if everything else fails perhaps that skinning option might be something to look at. Eowyn, hi, thanks for making me grin. ;) Steve, thanks again, the file is flickering through the Internet towards you as I type. Tony, you posted while the thing was chewing up my first response. Your offer is also appreciated, I'll send you the file if I can squeeze in another five minutes online. :)

Here's a preview of that lion walk- about the first 1/3 of the walk cycle. Still some tweaking to do on the tail, the head/neck, and the timing. It might take a little longer than I thought to finish, because the model's not symmetrical- I can't just switch the symmetry to make the second half of the walk cycle the way I did with the cat.
The cat run might be up this evening (UK time). :)

Oops. Partly my fault- in two instances, anyway. :8} If it's a problem I'll switch the previews to still images instead.
Thread: Can anyone tell me how to get custom thumbnails in the Pose library?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What Dizzie said. Save your background image thumbnail under a different name, then go into the relevant folder, delete the .rsr file for your prop/pose/figure/whatever, and rename the .rsr file for the background image to match the name of the proper file, and delete the background image's prop/figure/pose file. So, for example: Prop.pp2 is your prop, Prop.rsr is the thumbnail Poser made, Proppic.pp2 is the file created by Poser with your rendered image imported as the background image, Proppic.rsr is the imported background's thumbnail. Delete Prop.rsr and Proppic.pp2, and rename Proppic.rsr to Prop.rsr. There you go. Custom thumbnail.

Wow! That's so... I hate to use the term, I really do, it's so overused, but 'cute' is what it is. It's amazing what you can do with primitives. Well done for giving it a go and showing us the results. It's encouraging to see that a very useable character can be produced with nothing but Poser itself- the thought of creating a character from scratch without any great modelling skills is quite daunting, but seeing this has to be an incentive to have a go at something beyond putting ready-made characters into scenes. It's given me a boost, anyways. :)

I think the best part about this set is that it sets itself out in the right places. What a time-saver that is! Thank you!

Thread: Is Poser really that bad ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh go on, I'll add something too, why not follow the herd? ;) I'm another one who started with Bryce (which I found really hard to figure out until everything suddenly clicked), and after that Poser wasn't too hard to get going with (although I'm still a beginner when it comes to the full range of features the program includes). It's more of a physical interface than a computer interface, for me. As people have already said, you have to think like an artist (or a movie director), not a programmer (or a mathematician). My son (who's 9 now) seems to have no difficulty with the the basics of selecting figures, posing them and moving them around to make a scene, and all I did was sit him down at the PC and let him play with Poser on his own. It tends to suggest to me that Poser IS intuitive, but only if you haven't already become used to working in other ways. I've been trying out some of the other 3D modelling applications that have an interface somewhat closer to the various 2D computer image packages, and in many cases it's just 'duh?' despite having used Paintshop and some CAD stuff, because it's so different to Poser. . They just don't do things the same way. It's apples and oranges- people might prefer one or the other but you can't really say one is 'better'. I guess Poser is really an entry-level application, though, so far as 3D software goes, and if it really is that different then its value as a training aid is dubious. If you've already got access to top-of-the-range software and know how to use it then there isn't much reason to use Poser other than to take advantage of the huge range of ready-to-use models, poses and light sets available for it... Actually, that's a pretty good reason! :^)

I'll have a go, but Stephie, Vickie, or lo-res Vic? I don't have Vic, just her lo-res sister.
