The terrain and sky look great! The only thing that bothers me is seeing the stars through the planet. If you added the stars in post, maybee you could use a rendermask to block the stars from the planet. Or should they show through the part of the planet that isn't visible? Hmm...not sure on that one. Great pic though! Rich
Thread: My first Vue Scene....ever!! | Forum: Vue
The upgrade price from the free version of Vue 2 is $145 US dollars. Thats how I got 3.1. I think there were two free plants at e-ons web site that worked with 2.1, but I don't remember wich ones they were. What you can do is try all of them, (4 or 5 maybee?) and the ones that generate an error message when you open your vegetation browser are for 3.1. All you have to do then is delet them from your vegetation folder. I agree with Mike. This picture certainly doesn't suck! I really like the sun and it's reflection in the water. It's a very peacefull scene. Rich

Looks like a real good start to me! Maybee a bit more something in the foreground at the bottom to give even more of a sense of depth? Rich

I think this is a very good scene. The moon looks much better in the second version. Also really like the sand texture. Something along those lines might be better for the dirt road texture I'm working on.

Bloodsongs right about the wagon-wheel ruts. The only problem is, I didn't have that effect in mind when I created the greyscale bitmap for the road terrain! I guess I'll have another go at that. The moon is in front of the planet, but I really hadn't thought about how someone else would see it. Move it so it only overlaps a little? I still plan on putting in a horse & rider at some point. Just want to say thanks to everybody for your help, I really appreciate it! Rich

Hey Mike, No problem on the links, whenever you've got time. I know all to well what it's like digging through CD's trying to find something! I'm sure none of them compare to Rhino, but I'd like to check them out just to see what I like/don't like about them. I do have OFX, but I've been playing with the Rhino Demo the past few days and I think it's much easier to work with. Thanks, Rich

Not that I'm not happy about this, you understand, but I'd just decided to save my pennys and get Rhino! Life just isn't fair sometimes. sigh Rich

Hey Mike, all I did was to follow the mini tutorial in the manual for making distant planets almost exactly. It really is pretty easy when you've got instructions, LOL! Thanks for the comment though. Rich

If your'e having problems selecting objects, try moving similar objects (trees, terrains, ect.) to their own layer and hide the layers you aren't working with. I think this should help speed things up. Rich
