Saving the object works very well. The new item will automatically load at the same size and position, and then you just adjust it to where you want the duplicated item.

The Daz flattop doesn't give you an awful lot of options, though, especially for how long it takes to render the hair. There are a lot of "in-between" hairs, but few good very short or very long ones that don't look girly. Not saying there aren't ANY, but that there are just very precious few.

Thpear an magic helmet? More effective and versatile "weapon accessories" -- back harnesses for blades, single and double shoulder rigs for handguns, nightvision gear, more clips and ammo types, belts and scabbards, lanyards for axes and hammers, etc.

Wow. Um. It's amazing what you can do when your harddrive hasn't been pushed to capacity. Ooops. When the hell did I use up 12 gigs of space?????

Now that's definitely a place to start. Mike and Vicky are far enough from the camera that the bump is almost pointless. Off to give it a try!

I've had the unstable file problem before, and it Sucks when you're at the final render point. I'd just never seen the "low memory" dialogue before on a render. I guess it's what I get for trying to make a laptop fly when it's barely capable of running.

Some firewalls tend to be real resource suckers. ZoneAlarm is a great firewall, but when you combine it with a really complex scene, Poser tends to choke. Turning the firewall off sometimes seems to clear it.

Win 98, unfortunately, so most of the neat tricks to change my allocation won't help. Yes, I know, I need to upgrade to XP. 125 MB RAM. Usually it's not this bad. I've got FreeMem that usually seems to do the job for allocation, but even IT is choking on this one scene. I just can't figure out what part of it is so amazingly too much. Gaaaah.

I'm actually getting the "You are low on memory!" message with the current piece I'm working on. I'm only used to seeing that with corrupted RSRs for the obj files, so it's a new one on me. I'm working with a heck of a lot less memory than you are and can usually easily do a Mike/Vicky combo without problems. Let me guess ... you're on Win 2K? I think there's an allocation problem that someone else can walk you through fixing. I have the same problem you're having every now and then, especially if I've done a few test renders, or have my firewall on.

Oh yeah, this is great. He looks just flat out MEAN. Only thing I can think is to yellow up his teeth now. They're a bit white with everything else.
