Well, as one of the people who has PM'd Rich recently and received very constructive advice and assistance from him (Thank you Rich!), I'm all for this - I'm desperately trying to learn how to take better photos and although I can sometimes capture a shot reasonably well, I lack the technical knowledge to make it a great photo - this is where help and advice is useful.

Comments in the gallery are all well and good, and it's a great place for "advertising" yourself, but without people like Rich (and I must also add in here Joe, as he has also PM'd me about a recent upload to the gallery), then it would take a very long time for me to ever achieve the level to which I am striving.

I must also stress that I am all too aware that you all have private lives too and any comments passed are welcomed and appreciated and I'm sure each and everyone of us feels the same, but with this in mind, this suggestion of Rich's makes a lot more sense and relieves the burden from him and Joe (and any others who help out) from helping all of us "newbies" single-handed.

I will wait with baited breath for this new thread to start here in the forums and hope that one day, I too may be in a position of offering advice and guidance rather than just "taking" it!

LOL! My son loves that "Monster" song, but I have to admit, as one who loves to dance, that dancing to that song is a definite no no in my book!
As far as the picture goes - I'm stuck now - it still looks like some sort of chain buried in concrete or something similar but Kort already said that so..................... my early morning brain doesn't work as well as my late night one I'm afraid - better go and get ready for work instead (please tell me this is going to be something kinky!!! - only joking, it's way to early for me to be thinking like that!!)

OK - I don't have any decent macro lenses so this isn't a very good close-up and I had to hold it in my fingers as I couldn't even get this close with it flat on my white studio set up - it just wouldn't focus on it at all!! Sorry, not up to your high standards but at least it's an old British sixpence and of the greatest year ever (for football at least LOL!) I have got a 1967 one somewhere (which would have been the greatest year ever....... I was born!!) but I don't know where it is! Rich: I've got several old coins and also an old one pound note too, but the collection is up in the attic somewhere - but this thread doesn't really warrant me sending the old man up there on a "treasure" hunt just yet!!

I guess that it is a horse-show imprint in the ground??!!
I have no idea really, but that's about as much energy as mu brain can stand after a hard Monday in work!!
