First bug report :D
Thread: how's them proportions lookin( nude fake people warning) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
Here are some suggestions if you are still looking for feedback.
The curve of the shoulders seems a bit to maskuline i think, women tend to have more round curves.
Something with the shoulder on the back seems wrong (Marked with red lines), might be the image, but they seem to have been deformed, due to the bending.
The elbow seem a bit high (Could be the image), but the forearm and the upper arm is approx the same size, forearm is slightly longer. So maybe move the joint between forearm and hand a little bit up, only a little.
I would probably give the inner thigh and calf a bit more volume as they seem a bit straight.
The heel seems a bit big (Again the image might cheat) and also the slope of the feets seems a bit bulky (Again image might cheat)

Brotman says to keep the section!
I surrender :)
That is an excellent idea, i think with sub forums. I think a lot of people would like a brief overview or explanation about, what fractals are? How can you use them with 3d? etc. As i said, I don't know a lot about it, but the first thing i think of when hearing it, is math which i guess might scare a lot of people away straight away.

The New Poser forum was created because more experienced Poser users would jump on the new users when they asked a question.
Im sorry to say it, but that is not a valid reason i think. If experienced users are jumping at people asking basic question then there is a problem with your users. Also experience is a grade, even those that see them self as experienced, might be "noobs" in the eyes of someone more experienced, so what prevent those at having a go on them?
And you can keep asking that question, so if that is such a huge problem that you have to make "special" forums for people, you really have to sort this out, i think. Besides that you could make a sticky or a beginners guide, where all the most basic questions are collected and answered. Like:
How do i make cloth follow my figure?
How do i setup a dynamic cloth simulation in Poser?
And you either make a link to these beginners guide when a user register, which is a good service and give them a good experience straight away or you could do both. Also the more experienced users could refer to this guide rather than having a go at them.
We have vendors that use the Marketplace Showcase forum for displaying products that are coming out soon so since it is getting used, it would not be good to take it away from them.
I see your point, but i have to disagree. Looking at the forum there are 2 posts and the last one is made the 29 january announcing the release of a product, meaning that its already available on the marketplace. Besides that it have 7 views. The other one is made the 18. jan and have 13 views. I like that you don't want to remove that option from vendors, but i would say that the numbers speaks for them self how effective or useful this is, both in regards to the users and the vendors. When comparing to reducing amount of forums, i would get rid of it. The main way for vendors to show or promote there products are through the product page, so if you want vendors to have better options for presenting them and viewers to get information about them, this is the place to do it, i think.

But... I just got here!
Im sorry :D
The reason i wrote (most likely) is because i dont know that much about fractals, I find it fascinating so it was more based on forum activity :D But i think you illustrate it well with your link to a specialize fractal forum with a lot of activity regarding this and guess a lot of people interested or working with fractals are on your forum. My concern is that with the amount of forums on Renderosity things get lost or inactive. I mean if you look at the fractal forum, its very inactive which i think is a shame, because looking at some of the things you can do with it, its amazing. But the only way you can really show what fractals can be used for or present it to users to how this can be integrated with the other 3d tools they use, is if you have to post in the other forums. Because the chance is that this information is lost in the fractal forum, and as you stated you get a lot of interest regarding how fractals can be exported to obj files. But looking at the fractal forum here on Renderosity it doesn't seem like the interest is posted there.
So i agree with you that a restructure of the forums is needed, so these things are available and useful for people and fractals should maybe be combined with something else to make it more visible to people.
Because what is the point of moderating if there is nothing to moderate?

Would close:
New Poser users help (Would put all this in the Poser forum, its annoying to check so many places. Stuff posted here could be just as useful for experienced users.)
Newbie corner (Should post in the regular forums, since that is where the people that can help them hang out. And people don't/shouldn't mind helping them)
Suggestion box (Should be replaced with a forum called Website feedback)
Premium tutorials (Not really sure what it even means that its "Premium", Maybe just put them with the normal tutorials)
Modo
Mojoworld
UVMapper (Seems way to product specific and that is not to have a go at the product, but think rather than making a whole forum for it, as im not even sure how many people are actually able to provide help for it. It might be better to make a place for free tools like UVmapper, Gimp etc. so people can go one place and quickly get a good overview of different programs that might be useful.)
Wings 3D
Z-brush (Seems to only be the moderator posting there and honestly there are some very good forums for Z-brush already. And think most people use it in collaboration with Poser/Daz, so they seem to post in those forums anyway. But for anyone modelling "fresh" content i doubt this is the first place the go.)
Marketplace showcase
Contest announcements
Fractals (Most likely)
Html and Web scripting
Macintosh (Don't think the phrase "Macintosh" is even used by apple anymore, at least not when i worked for them, besides that it seems misplaced.)
Mixed medium (Hard to see a use for this with a forum for almost any program/method ;D)
Texturing (Seems to be done in program specific forums anyway)
The CSS
Beta testing
Collaborative film group
The market place wishing well (I dont think a lot of vendors check it or even would consider making products based on it. Maybe if it worked in another way. But I doubt its very useful for either the wish makers or the vendors)
Vendor workshop (Seems everything is being done in the Vendors support forum anyway.)
Thread: Great tutorial here Rendo: Superfly and Legacy figures! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The only thing that makes me wonder, is how come these updates ain't made before release, I mean they release a new render option, yet none of the older figures are optimized/fixed for it. If they release the old figures as being "valid" figures they should at least do that i think. I appreciate the tutorial and from what i understand this person is not working for SM, but think that either SM should "fix" these old figures to fit there releases or they should remove them. Its a bit off i think that users need to do this manually :)
Thread: Addition to TOS - Please Read! | Forum: Community Center
Im a bit suprised how it can be so difficult to understand. You can't expect Renderosity to make examples for every single thing. If you disagree with someones statement or something that Renderosity does, its doesn't necessarily mean that your view is negative, it depends on how you phrase your disagreement, if you phrase it through a personal attack on someone then its neither constructive or positive.
It should be fairly obvious that Renderosity wont encourage people to link to competitors sites, How many companies does that? Besides that and i might be wrong, but for instant if someone make a post asking for a specific item they once saw and its available on Daz3d or whatever and not Renderosity, I would be surprised to see that post get closed due to that, its not a secret that these other sites exist, but if someone make a post encouraging others to go shop elsewhere, like a commercial, of course Renderosity wont allow that and pretty sure the other sites wont like you doing that on there site either.

Think some more information might help. What problems do you experience? What file format are you using? etc.
Thread: Tangents closest to Unity,Unreal,zBrush,Mudbox,? RenderEngines ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Rorrkonn how does it look in Poser, can you do a comparison render, because the problem is not substance painter, but whether a low poly object in poser using a normal map will render correct. Those test i did i had to crank up the subD's to get good results, but that is kind of ruin the purpose i think.
Thread: Gallery Search Function! | Forum: Community Center
I think it looks nice, I would however make it so you had the option to filter before search as well. When you press the search button without having typed anything, you could add all the filters there as well. Also adding a tool option for selecting Poser/Daz3d/Other 3D/Traditional/Camera/Model and 3D print would be nice.
Thread: EVO face | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Can you specify what feedback you are looking for? You say its an Evo face, im not really sure what that means and therefore not sure what feedback you are after :D
Thread: Getting to know YOU! | Forum: Community Center
I do understand the frustration that some people are feeling regarding the changes to the website and forum. But i fail to see the relationship between the original post and what relevans that have in regards to this topic?
The post is a friendly attempt to get to know/interact with the users of the site, which have nothing to do with the state of the forum. Regardless of that, it is met with an assault regarding some decisions made by Renderosity to update and change there forum. Being friendly and reply to a post like this, while still being annoyed with the state of the forum is possible, since they are not related.
Im not going to argue that the forum doesn't have a lack of functionalities that is needed. But people are still able to create threads, attach images and reply etc. I personally think it would be a good idea for Renderosity to inform members regarding the progress of the forum development, if any. Simply because a lot of people cares about it. But that is no excuse for not behaving, being constructive when replying to someone and not derail posts for sake of expressing ones frustration.
Using this post as example, the OP make a friendly post and almost instantly one reply with a negative post, that have nothing to do with the topic in hand and simply just derail it. That reply should have been made in a new thread instead, where that could have been discussed, creating a much more interesting and constructive discussion. To me it seems like a lot of people are just caught in a state of complaining and uses every excuses they get to express it, and it takes very little for them to trigger, however i do understand this to some degree, but not the way they express it.
I use forums a lots so im well aware of the limitations on this one, but people asking for help, feedback etc. doesn't care which method, tools etc are available to them if they get help solving there problem and they will appreciated the help just as much. But if your request for help, feedback etc. are not helpful or constructive or constantly derailed, people wont care to ask for it, regardless of which functionalities are available.
If people have complains about the functionalities, they should make a thread and express it there instead and if Renderosity are clever they get them self involved in these discussions with the purpose of sorting them or at least give an explanation to why something is not being done, whether its being worked on etc.
And if they were really going for it, they should make a forum called "Website feedback" where all these issues could be gathered, instead of them being in sub forums, where no one can keep track of whats going on, bugs, lack of functionalities, new features being implemented etc.
A good example is the post "e-bots? Who is having trouble?" which is a good idea to ask for something like this, but not in the Poser sub forum as its not Poser only related.
The absolute best forums in my opinion are the one where staff interact with members. But besides being friendly which is my impression that the Renderosity staff is, they also need to provide answers and feedback to them as if they worked for the Renderosity. And the first step towards this, is to make a place where members can give feedback and express there opinions about things they don't like. But also Renderosity need to keep members informed about the progress of solving these things and not just acknowledge and show concerns for them as being so. And personally I think this is one of the things that is really needed in this forum and which would have a great impact on the community as a whole.
Anyway enough derailing for now, but so many posts gets derailed, when there are no need for it. And its not only Renderosity fault, but one last thing, instead of closing down a whole thread, the Renderosity staff should have the ability to remove replies, which doesn't stick to the intended topic, i think.
But to the OP. I have been using and working with 3D / 2D as a hobbyist for a long time, not even sure how long, But the desire for creating things have always interested me, to being able to tell a story and make something the way you think they should be have always fascinated me. As 3-DArena i share the view that one shouldn't work just to work, life is short so spending to much time on borring things should be avoided :D
But unfortunately i have seen reality shows and can only say that you haven't missed anything and in my opinion the human race should be ashamed to use a media that can reach millions of people for non sense stuff like that.
Thread: Grouping all the parts to a prop | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not sure this is what you mean so in case its not you can ignore it :D
But you could use the hieraki editor to link all parts to the main part for instant. Make the changes you need and then save the car to your library. Then you should be able to simply add the car again from the library and it will have the same features as the other one.
Another way is when you have imported your car and you have all the different parts etc. Make all the changes you need and then export it again as an OBJ including all the parts and then import that one again. In that case the model will be 1 obj with the changes you made before you exported it. You might have to set up materials again though, but im pretty sure it will maintain them, but anyway just beware that you might have to fix them again.
Thread: Finding threads you've started?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Seems like you can search for your posts if you go to the forum overview, meaning you can't be in a forum like "Poser" etc. At the top you can switch to advance search and then type in your user name and it will show the newer ones.
