PaganArtist, how is the loading time for you lately? Better?
When my internet slows down to a crawl, it's always when my AV program is downloading virus definition updates. Rendo has been fine for me, as has RDNA; but since you mention 2 different sites using Bondware, I wonder if your AV program is specifically monitoring sites using this software?
I have had stranger things happen with a prior (and now uninstalled) AV program. :p
Thread: UGH!!! Sooo frustrated. Please help. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - ...could someone please tell me why DAZ packages these figures that way in the first place, rather than just packing the needed files already there?
...I mean whats the reason to pack the .bat file so we the end user have to run them and create the missing files?
Daidalos, I have wondered the same thing; I abhor Daz's .bat file installation system, and was never particularly fond of having to install content from .exe files, either. Rendo has completely spoiled me, letting me see at an easy glance what's inside the archive.
Using commands to create missing files is annoying and unnecessary!

I was a-wonderin' what the Good Doctor meant... :P
LOLOL!!!!
Thread: Get Your Gallery Artwork Seen! Also, new gallery tag. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - The only sure-fire way to make sure no one can save your art is to not put it online.
Absolutely. Regarding disabling the right click:
Ironically enough, I only ever use the right-click option for images to see the image's properties.
When I want to save an image, I simply drag it from the browser to my desktop or another folder.
AnyHOO, viewed images always appear in the caches of both IE and FF...
So those scripts blocking right-clicks are annoying and pointless.
Thread: WTF is this? | Forum: Community Center
Quote - ROFL stupid spamming.. does anybody really answer those kind of mails? i just cant belive it..
Well, yes... but if one is clever enough, he/she may be able to scam the scammer! LOL!
I love this guy's site.... http://www.spamscamscam.com/read_letters.php**
**Dean Cameron has been writing about these scams for several years now.
One of the things he mentions on his site is how he conned the potential scammer into sending him (something like) 15 dollars. HAhaha!
The money was supposedly to cover the cost of some "forms" Dean 'needed' in order to withdraw the money he was being asked for. So the scammer sent him the funds. LMAO!
Thread: Max size limit for footers (signatures & banners ect?) | Forum: Community Center
Quote - ...But.. I wonder if there's an official size limit here?...
I've wondered that, too, TrekkieGrrrl.
Quote - ...I admit it irritates me a little, as does flashing banners. NOT so much that I want to turn off ALL signatures though...
Since I appreciate creative avs & sigs, I use adblock in firefox to block only the ones I don't want to see. Some flashing images are uncomfortable to view -- those become the victims of my deathly right-click-adblockimage move. ;)
Thread: Poser 8 wishes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wishes? Well, I may indeed write again.
But one immediate thing that comes to mind is: I'd love a refining of the ability to select specific body parts, etc.
From Poser 5 to Poser 7, this has truly stank out loud! What do I mean, you may ask?
Well today, for instance, I hovered the mouse over a character's forearm, and I SWEAR, everything **BUT **the forearm was highlighted! I moved the mouse again and again, repositioning it over the forearm, as I usually have to do... The abdomen, the chest, the friggin' THIGH, for cryin' out loud, were highlighted in turn, but never the forearm! ACK!!
This has always happened regardless of the tool I'm using. It drives me NUTS! I am not a fan of having to use drop-down menus to select... anything. lol... But that has been the only guaranteed way of selecting exactly what I want in Poser.
Thread: Was wondering if someone can convert these 2 objects to Poser characters for me? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey, freefall565! : ) As a recovering Tomb Raider addict (I started using Poser only for the sole purpose of creating homages to Lara Croft :P) -- I'd like to add 2 things here...
First, whereas there is currently no morph on the Poser market that looks like (the game version of) Lara Croft (if you play the games, you know what I mean) -- there are very similar outfits you can use, like the one created by Pretty3D, here. : )
You're lucky, btw! There were no Poser Legend outfits out there when I created a "poser Lara".
Second, be careful about distributing meshes, unless you are the creator, or have express permission to share them. : ) The files you linked to seem to be the same ones that were ripped from the game (I saw those same files on a TR forum, with the exact filenames in your download).
Yah, Eidos has encouraged fanart for years, and they still do (they provide fanart kits & feature fanart on their site) -- but they certainly do not allow the redistribution of meshes taken from the games. Just a head's up. : )
Thread: Poser World, freebies are back. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Always great freebies but credit card required - thanks but no thanks.
Awww... I was hoping I would simply have to join, not provide sensitive information.
Thanks for the offer anyway, Steve. If I could access the freestuff simply by registering at your site, I'd be in! You have some very lovely items on your site.
Thread: What is a Tetrabyte? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Petabyte? Isn't that where an animal activist gets bitten by the animal they are trying to feed carnivores vegetables?
Good one!
Speaking of sizes, last night I watched a movie in which a guy was told, "I want your entire C drive backed up on a floppy disk!" That movie was released in 2000.
Oh, and I remember thinking a computer I owned was hot stuff because it had a 20 gig hard drive. :P
Thread: Asking to keep the Miller family in your prayers. | Forum: Vue
Gary, my heart goes out to you during this sad time. :(
I send my most sincere thoughts to you and your family; I pray that you may be comforted and uplifted in this difficult time.
I'm deeply sorry about your loss....
Thread: Hadies Gate | Forum: Vue
I love the raging atmosphere in your image! This looks like something that belongs on a book cover.
Quote - also its hades :P
Quote - Ah ha, wrong! ;)
It's "Hade's Gate", note the apostrophy, as it's a posessive (or is it objective?) noun...if i recall my very VEYR far off English lessons.
Well, if you want to be technical, it's Hades', with the apostrophe after the S, not Hade's. :P
Hades is the name of a Greek god. The god of death and all that fun stuff.
Thread: (NUDITY) PosetteV3 spotted at 3D Porn Site | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
dphoadley, I googled what you said, but did not find your linkee!
If it's not against the TOS, could you kindly PM with a little more direction about finding the images with your remapped Posette? I wanna see it! :P And congratulations, you!
Now, Adding my 1¢, and in a kind, helpful spirit. :)
Quote - As for the "elitism" on CG TALK etc. ...
Quote - I just would not call them pathetic knowing what it took for them to get there.
I think there is a bit of misunderstanding here. Just to say, it sounded to me that silverblade33 was calling the elitism itself pathetic; not the people. : )
Quote - I never said Poser users where uneducated in making 3D content.
No... I didn't think so either; you were clearly addressing something far more specific.
And I hope I don't sound preachy; but I think it may have been your phrasing that made your comment sound more harsh than you intended. : )
Methinks it will shed a little light on your overall perception if people look at a comment you wrote in response to some Poser-bashing (6 comments down on the page). I particularly appreciated what you said about Poser content, renders, and the merits thereof. ;)
Thread: IBL TIP - Instant "white balancing" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - its not the same bagginsbill. he has a very very blured direction light
To ice-boy: I studied the images again. I am still learning, but I now can see what you pointed out.
It's wonderful that we can learn from the eyes of others.
Thank you so much for your post. : )
