One reason I avoid pmd files is because the links to them are hard coded, e.g., ":Runtime:libraries:Character:People:James:JamesHiRes.pmd" That means that if you ever decide to reorganize your directory structure or simply rename a directory, the links will fail.
But let me add a question here. I always hear that pmds reduce file size and speed up loading, but aren't you just dealing with two files instead of one? Where does the reduced size and better loading speed come from?

Well, typically you'll want to give the simulation a few frames at the end to let the cloth settle. If your model is still posing and morphing when the simulation ends the cloth may not look all that natural.
But back to the OP. The main thing is to make sure there is no poke thru at frame 1, and usually the easiest way to do that is to take RedPhantom's approach.

So I just looked at your gallery... "different level of knowledge of Poser" indeed! Nice stuff. You guys can carry on without me. ;)

Thread: Learning Poser 10 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I'm no fan of the Poser manuals, but I will say that aRtBee's stuff is some of the best I've seen on any technical topic. There's even a thread from a few years back where I talk about what I like about aRtBee's approach to technical writing. For the record, I've been reading - or I should say dealing with - manuals since the 80's and have written a few myself.
Be aware that there is a significant learning curve for Poser, so brace yourself, but if I could figure it out you can too. Actually there are still entire rooms in Poser that I never even enter like the Face and Setup rooms.

OK, just to make sure we're not talking past each other... You're aware, I take it, that Victoria comes with an eyebrow that by default is invisible but when made visible has a cast unlike the rest of her?

...or try this: Open up the Hierarchy window and take a look at Victoria's settings. Right underneath "Head" you should see "Eyebrow". Make sure it's set to invisible. That's it.
Now if you make Victoria invisible through the Hierarchy window by clicking the visibility icon of her "Body" or "Victoria" herself, and then make her visible again, you'll see the eyebrow problem again. I'm not really sure why she has an eyebrow.

Bingo! I guess the reason I didn't notice the mismatch in the V4 characters is that the numbers happened to be pretty much the same except for the leading zeros, and my eyes just didn't pick that up.

Sometimes you have to hit refresh twice because the first refresh will show duplicates.

Thread: Why do people insist on putting Mats in the Pose library? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Why continue to do it? Because this is how the rank and file EXPECT it to be done...
...I suspect that vendors would get considerable pushback from the unwashed masses if they were to stop providing mat files in the pose folder, but can't prove it.
I've often wondered how many people actually stick with the default library structure. For me, it's unimaginable that anyone would choose to do so if they realized that they could reorganize their content to suit their own purposes. I well remember when I first started using Poser (P8), I was so frustrated with its content organization that I was ready to forget the whole thing. But that's just me.
Maybe we should have a poll to see how many use the default library setup and how many use their own.

Thanks for the explanation, BB. Is there any chance that the AIR library will become part of regular Poser?
In a separate thread here, I've asked about the problem of a right click inside the Library window freezing that window. Is this perhaps related to the keystroke capturing issue?

Alt-Tab to another program and switching back solves the freeze sometimes
Since you have Poer Pro, have you tried the suggestions about using the external (Air) library?

I am running Poser 9 in Windows 8.1 32-bit. The two modes aren't an option for me.

Thread: Can you copy the path from the Library Window? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, this is odd because this has never worked for me, even through several flavors of operating systems and Poser versions: Windows XP and Poser 8, Windows Vista and Poser 8 and 9, and now Windows 8.1 and Poser 9. When I try to copy the path, what gets copied is the list of parameter settings, e.g.:
Body 0 scale Spline 1.0000 10
Body 0 xScale Spline 1.0000 7
Body 0 yScale Spline 1.0000 8
Body 0 zScale Spline 1.0000 9
Body 0 yrot Spline 0.0000 2
...
