Thread: Nice new look, BUT ... | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Aha! One of your wishlist links is working properly (the old one that displays on a specific product page), but the other is not working (the new one that displays at the top of all the other pages). Click on Wishlist at the top of this page: http://www.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?WhatsNew=Yes NOT working. Click on Wishlist directly above the product on this page (or any product page): http://www.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=6993 IS working. (BUT the Wishlist link above the indexes on the same page is NOT working.)
Thread: Better and better ... but ... | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Excellent! I really like to see the number of members climb 'cause I want Renderosity to be around for a long, long time. Since I spend a lot of time browsing Renderosity, I really notice when it slows down. I hope this memory issue will do the trick! Good luck! bit
Thread: Who runs The Marketplace? Who's the boss? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Update: on further inspection, the one item mentioned above that had no readme.txt was an update from the author of a product. I did not receive it thru Renderosity, but placed it in with my purchases, and so mistakely thought I had gotten it from Renderosity. So, as a message to artists: please ALWAYS include indentification information in EVERY product zip file, even if only a few missing files or bonus files are being sent. (You artist folks are often so very brilliant in your creative talents, but pretty sloppy when it comes to systematic organization.) As to the rest: please please please find some consistent format for product packaging. Call the readme.txt file README.TXT and put it in the ROOT of the zip file. Organize the readme file so that it is easy to find the important information: your name, your email address, your web site (if any); and for textures and poses, the model name and author name and email address (if known) of the model builder. And, a small JPG of the model with your texture(s) or pose(s) applied would also be very helpful. Place them in the root of the zip also. Many thanks for beautiful models, textures, poses, and an excellent community (admins and members both).

Thanks for the info. This is my recent experience: one item had a readme file called "proudct info.txt" (they misspelled it, I didn't) and another had a redme.txt. One didn't have a license.txt. Another had a "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx readme.txt" (the xxxx's were the product's name). Sometimes the txt files were in the root of the zip, sometimes they were buried in amongst the product files in subdirectories within the zip. One time the readme.txt file was in the root but the license.txt file was in a product subdirectory. And one (recently released) product had two JPGs only (no readme.txt and no license.txt) -- thus no indication of what model the textures were meant to be applied to. Soooooo, it would seem that your requirements are spot on. But the implementation is spotty. One of you generals needs to whip the troops into shape. Thanks!!

Thread: Download problems. | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
parallax, Yes. I agree that not all the problems are on your end. I also had several problems today. One download was twice received as a bad zip file (still have not gotten it correctly) and I also got the SQL error message several times. bitplayer

Thread: corrupt zip file from market | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Adam, I hope you were able to get this straightened out. I purchased this item on June 6 and have had no trouble unzipping it. The program I use is WinZip ver. 8. It may be a small program error with your unzipping program. (Maybe not all zip programs are created equal.) Good luck! bitplayer
Thread: Attention all Marketplace vendors! | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
JKeller: I like your idea for standards. The Marketplace and its vendors are actually doing very well considering it is kind of a Turkish Bazaar, each doing their own thing. I have spent many buckolas there. I appreciate all the effort the Vendors take to make their offerings clear and concise. And I appreciate the job Renderosity has done in creating such a fine merchant account. Let's keep making it better and better and I'll keep opening a vein to finance my purchases! bit
