INFINITY, this looks like an amazing procedure and wondering if there is any help in here for my situation which is described in detail here:http://forums.macnn.com/90/mac-os-x/359040/problems-copying-files-wirelessly-mbp-pc/ Where I am trying to sync runtimes on two machines, one a mac and one a pc. After reading your post haphazardly I think I will have more problems then just file transfer and synchronization. I did notice that on the target machine, the PC, that poser can't find some items (characters, textures, random things it seems) but I don't know if that's caused by file transfer failures or that XML file and hardcoded drive letters...won't be sure until I can replicate the runtime with 100% assurance. I would not be in this mess if I did not have to author on laptop with batteries due to the unavailability of electricity in this country. Trying to figure out how to solar power the office, but until then all I have are nicads. Cheers.Thread: RIP Poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
BTW, same procedure for photoshop on crashes, remove all preferences (Alt/Option-Command - Delete). defrag not needed on a mac.

thanks cobalt, i redid the lights with IBL (I think) and my piece looks a lot better. Is there anymore to it then just using an IBL light set? Do I have to go back to the material room for every character and make some changes too? thx.Thread: Wall Lighting | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

> Quote - "Unless You Want Him To Look Like me" > Hah hah > Nah before I concentrate on the character I want to get the lighting etc. right , No point in spending hours on texturing making character up , Infact maybe I should start with the basics heh , Thanking you again **coocooFORcocoapuffs for your input , I'll check out your gallery , Me is not much of a Poser person atm :D**your welcome! i am just learning lighting now, i am doing it backwards i guess. here is my latest work in poser/photoshop...if i ever get a sponser i will do the game for real and THEN have to learn poser animation:) http://www.phoenixstudios.com.np/Zoomify.html

hey that's pretty cool. try using the built-in in poses for your figure so he looks a bit more natural, and ur stock library should also have some hair, unless u want him to look like me....but u are well on ur way to becoming a poser expert...sorry cant help ya with animation, i just use poser for stills right now, but someone here is sure to give u advice!

I'm no expert, but you are in the right place I think. If putting up walls with windows is too much, there are lots of free or lowcost environments and props that u can add to any figure scene. good luck!

Cobalt that's a great tip too. Any suggestions for lighting on this scene: it was composed in Poser 7 but postworked in Photoshop...Thread: Need help deciding what to use for Backgrounds/Environments for Poser 7...and a | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another workflow Question: We are totally screwed here now, with only 13 hours of electricity per day so I am going to have to do some poser work on two laptops to get through the day. One is a mac and the other a low-powered Sony ultraportable (great bat life). P7 is loaded on both, albeit the sony tr is worthless for rendering (but works for composing). So...is there a fast way to combine figures from the sony to the scene on the mac? And I mean fast, like drag and drop or cut and paste? The machines will have about the same runtimes (trying to use p3do to sort that out). What would the best way to do this, and is there going to be any gotchas because of platform diffs? Thanks!!!
Thread: How to save transparent from render window? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Acadia, that's an interesting point, I assumed that if u saved as .psd, that in photoshop it would come in as layers, with at least one of them being transparent. But it does not, not in CS3 on a mac however. I would love to see that feature in Poser v.next...each figure placed on it's own transparent layer...

Hi there, I posted this question as well a few days back; i am on a mac and i was confused as well - as Preview in Leopard does not support the png transparency (shows up gray) or maybe it does, and it's just a coincidence that the gray back in preview is the same gray back as in poser! Exported png's ARE transparent, but even Bridge and Finder shows them with a white background instead of showing thru whatever color is beneath. I guess programmers of apps had to decide how to portray transparent images, and it's not consistent. But not much in life is, like the availability of electricity in this country. We are going to have 11 hours of outage per day, all on an insane rotating changing schedule...

Hi SVDL! thanks for that. Ur suggestion in basically what i do already, but I am a Photoshopfreak so I just go one step further for final production on stills (I can brushout any strangeness from the renders) plus playaround some more. aside: Poser even exports to PS3 layers now, but it rots. Anyway, I will try a Microcosm MacroTexture (where do they get these names!). Have u used this one: http://www.runtimedna.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=1015 today I just want to create a jungle scene using some DAZ animals. So is this like the DAZ packs, where you have to buy the objects AND the textures separate? I get so confused in this 3d cottage industry, where every pack is different, no helpfiles, and sometimes no requirements listings. But I can overcome! thx...

Okay nick, will have to deal with daz and ancient accounts, there is no object there nor in the .exe from daz. thanks for trying!

Aw jeez, the MillBigCatsLIST.txt does not list those files, and is dated 10/14/2004. I guess there must have been an update, but hard to believe there was a mane-less lion. Not to be sexist, but that sucks. Now what to do? I guess I can complete this comp with a female lion or maybe a male puma, but it wouldn't be the same... ps. Nick, on your Indian Saddle icon, why do you have that goofy guy? A lot of my icons are like that on this mac, but I don't ever remember seeing him on a pc. Is this some sorta mac/pc icon problem? Well, thanks so much for you help everyone ...it really helps!
