Quote - Place a Primative, such as the Hi Res Cloth Plane as the Back ground and then apply it in the Material Room. You could also apply it to the Ground Plane or Background.
Hmmm god i'm so new at all this. Primitives are those shapes arent they, like squares, cylinders etc. All i have is hi res square. I guess i can tile it though and then apply the texture.
Sorry i must appear a proper gimp:(

Thread: Installing freestuff | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey Guys
My broadband went down for 2 days over the weekend. So I was unable to do any work. HaHa, so I was finally able to get to grips with installing stuff in Poser7.
I got together all of my wayward runtimes together in one folder on my hard disc and hey presto.
The problem is that every individual item you obtain, regardless of wether its free or paid for, come with that all important runtime folder. But thats just it. Every single one is called 'runtime'. Which causes no end of problems. So on installation i have just renamed each runtime to whatever it actually is... and then added that runtime to my runtimes folder.. then added that runtime within Poser instelf. AND IT WORKS! All my content in one place.
Wow i feel i have achieved something. Thanks for all your individual pieces of advice.

Quote - Some free stuff doesn't have the right paths in the file, so what I do is have a folder in Mydocs called "poser temp", I unzip to there and then place the files into poser manually from there using cur and paste.
This is only for free stuff with the wrong paths though, winzip will usually unzip to the right place.
Hi there
Hmm i use stuffit expander here on mac.
Say i choose to manually place the files. Does that mean the whole folder just has to be placed correctly. Or, each individual file... in that case where do these go.
Sorry i must seem a little inept. I just get a little frustrated at what 'should' be a simple task.

Thread: Colour to Greyscale gradient? | Forum: Photoshop
Quote - Hi drky As usual with photoshop, there are several methods but I think the simplest is using a layer mask. (This method is also non-destructive.) select your top layer and click on the 'create layer mask' in the layers pallette. then in the gradient fills choose a simple black to white (NOT the black to transparent). draw your gradient left to right (or vice versa) on the image and it should go into the layer mask you just created. You can redraw the gradient as many times as you like till you get the effect you want.
Oh Yess
Now thats what i wanted to do. It took a few goes playing with the settings, but i got there in the end:)
Many thanks

Thread: Modelling clothes for Poser7 figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
On that last post by Angelouscultry,,, huh! ???
The rest of you guys many thanks. I'm really pleased I post here before jumping in at the deep end. So often I think, "yeah i can do that" and then spend ££££s finding out it aint that easy after all.
I didnt mean to in any way demean the obvious skill required in modelling. I guess its like the deep intricasies of Photoshop, one practiced and and learnt... its maybe just incremental steps to perfection after that.
Saying all that. I still fancy a go at V4s wardrobe myself. I guess what I wanted to know was of the mid to high end packages available which was best for the job. What do other Poser content creators use?  Then again, with Poser Pro just announced by e-frontier, its supposed to make character and content easier and all under one roof as it were. Maybe that is the road I need to go down.
Ahhhhh decisions, decisions. Life is never simple. But you guys have certrainly pointed me in the right direction. Many thanks

Like i said its probably me and my impatience.

Quote - There is something better than "The Tailor". It's called "Wardrobe Wizard". And it works with a MAC.

Quote - "Should assume that what works with ealier versions works also with P7." That's a fairly safe assumption.
Oh wow, simple as that! Thank you so much.
