Let's not forget that products that don't require any support after purchase are the true cream of the crop. Receiving support on a product that needs it is nice but nothing beats getting a product that is flawless right out of the chute. I'm not bashing anyone here...the vendors mentioned do make fine quality stuff.

I've been searching everywhere for a much needed image. I'm in desperate need of a wireframe image with white lines against a gray paper background of a girl hanging from a trapese by her legs. If anyone could please direct me to a program that includes such an image that I may do a screen capture of it I would be forever in their debt.
Thread: My Posers Dingelbarry wont go in his pants. read this 1 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Before alot of ppl read this and think "My gawd, why doesn't anyone HELP that poor fella instead of taunting?", I might point out a couple of things to enlighten. This person bragged about how he didn't have to BUY the program and thus didn't get the help he sought after. I'll help anyone I can as long as they don't try to boast about their expertise in acquiring things illegally.

upon re-reading the rules, I may have misinterpreted a section. The section stated that 3dtools must be used and I thought that was software that was being sold via a link just above that rule. There IS an entry fee of $6.00 but that does sound reasonable. Sorry for being ignorant.

You might want to mention that entries must use 3dtoolkit in a significant part of their creation and that requires a purchase. Thanks for the headsup, though. I can't afford any purchase of new software myself at this time so I can't enter.
Thread: Does anyone know where I can find a gunbelt? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Western style? I know there is a poseable gunbelt at the 3dcomiccollective site that comes with the character "Abbey Chase" but it's not western style. There are a few holsters and belts at greylight. Although they don't appear to be of western style, they could easily be modified to suit your needs.

I agree, soulhuntre. But let's say the scenario were as follows: (hypothetically speaking) I create a texture. I post it in freestuff. User Joeblow downloads it. Joeblow makes a texture using a chunk of my texture. User Whozit downloads Joeblow's texture and thinks it is so good, she asks him to use it in her commercial project. Joeblow, being someone who doesn't care who's toes he steps on says go right ahead. User Whozit now has fullfilled their obligation of getting permission even though it's my work.

Okay...my turn to add some insight. I don't know Dmentia or Stalle personally but have seen both's work and have been quit an admirer of both. I looked at the textures myself and came to the inescapable conclusion that they are far too similar to not be the same base. I'm not saying Dmentia knowingly did anything illegal or unethical. I have a slight theory to how this may have come about. Above, it is written somewheres that Dmentia states that the texture is a mix of different sources and those sources do not include Stalle's. What if...someone ELSE plaguerized Stalle's work...and then...Dmentia used part of THAT to collage her texture together? As far as Dmentia would be concerned, she didn't use Stalle's texture for she had no way of knowing that the texture she DID use contained it without the other person admitting it. So, in light of this possibility, I won't be taking up the torches in hunting down the "monster" that lives up on top of "Frankenstein Hill". Stalle, you have been wronged...but I know not by whom. I'm not part of any clique and am posting this as an unbiased bystander who wants to see an end to public trials and tribulations.

Thread: People thinking once they buy a model they have full rights to it... bah... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Before ppl get all bent out of shape and start throwing names around about someone I like, stop and think for a minute please. Caleb does NOT prohibit the use of his store items from ALL commercial use...just DON'T distribute the actual items theirselves within your ventures. Make all the pics and animations you want and do with them as you please, but get permission before trying to include the meshes in the package. I don't think asking for a refund is a good idea because there is not proof or guarantee the items aren't on one's harddisk (not calling anyone a liar). And to slam someone and make a public spectacle of saying you will never buy from them again because of a simple misunderstanding of an otherwise common knowlege practice of copywrite adherment isn't a polite thing to do.

Thread: banned guys galleries still online | Forum: Community Center
Why would you want to deprive the members of art to see just because someone did something stupid enough to get banned? If they want there stuff removed, they can ask to have it removed. If they want their stuff to stay up, they should be able to leave it up.
Thread: Smells fishy what do you think | Forum: Community Center
The images in the galleries are the same ones at that hash site...but the hash site doesn't list the names of the ppl that created the pics....so....it is highly possible that the same person posted to both places. However, the name at the bottom of the droid pic does state "Cactusbud '99" and none of the other pics have that distinction...this leads me to believe that they were NOT created by the same person. Proof is still lacking, but my gut feeling tells me that some kind of theft has taken place.
Thread: warez-ers | Forum: Community Center
It is my firm belief that long-time members have read the TOS and therefore are more prone to abide by them than the majority of "newbie warezers". They probably click to the agreement without so much as reading it because they probably think it's the same old same old found on countless sites that require you to leave if not old enough to view the material inside. It's sad to think that sometimes the galleries are looked upon by such individuals as an incentive to get the software needed to create such imagery through the quickest and most affordable means at their disposal.
