Quote - Unless it's changed, Geometries is directly under Runtime i.e. RuntimeGeometries.
I don't know if there's a standard location for the templates (uv maps). IIRC I've sometimes seen them in with the texture though, putting it in the same folder as the .obj seems logical as well - but that's just what seems logical to me :-)
Thanks I'll use that Runtime > Geometries and the uv map in textures.

Thread: Why doesn't saving to prop library link to prop's geometry file? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have a couple of questions about Geometry Stripper. I'm using philc PZ3editor which as the Strip embedded geometry feature.
I've made a dress obj for Miki 4. I want to offer it as a freebie here at renderosity but I need help figure out the runtime file.
The dress obj is not rigged but I want people to be able to get the obj file to edit if that way. These dress is a start kit and I allow people to use or edit and use the dress to make their own clothing to sell.
I import the dress and save as a prop. It can then be reloaded to fit Miki 4 zero pose from the prop folder.
I was in the chat and go some good advice but want to be clear on a few things.
I was told to use a Geometry Stripper and so the orginial obj would be linked to in the Geometry folder. I use the same file and folder name in the Geometry folder as the prop folder. That fine but I'm find the Geometry folder both inside and outside the libraries fold. Which should the Geometry folder be. Inside the runtime libraries folder or outside the libraries fold but inside the runtime folder?
Next. How does someone get the obj out of the Geometry folder? Should I tell them to export as an dress Object or the location of the file.
If I decide to add a uv map, where would I put that.
Thank you for any advice
Kimberly

You could always set the scene up on one machine, and in the Reality output tab, tick the "Collect Textures" box ... choose Highest Quality. Then, start the render and let Lux create it's necessary files .. resources, .lxs and .flm ... then stop it and start it up again on the second machine.
That is what I had planned to do. I have a second computer that is older but I stripped out all the software but windows and maxed out the ram. It never crossed my mind that I only lux on that computer. Thank you, problem solved.

Thread: Clothing Data File? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - i dunno if you now wilmap over in sharecg but he/she may have a better understanding of genesis clothing since there have been put out alot of genesis clothing lately
Wilmap has been a huge help in the past and helped me over at the daz3d forum. I think it is correct now. I made a stupid mistake when I copied the data folder to be zipped.
It is back up over http://www.sharecg.com/v/68525/view/21/DAZ-Studio/Genesis-Workout-Clothing if anyone wants it.

Thread: Clothing Data File? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I guess it is still not working. Over at ShareCG I am being told "Hi, it keeps not working: there are wrong references in .duf files to .dsf files in /data folder (eg. /data/3DK4/Workout Top/Workout Top/capri-top.dsf: /3DK4 folder doesn't exist)"
I am clueless, any advice?
Thanks

Quote - The file link you posted under the Pic does not have the data files in it It only had the clothing
I resaved it and found the data file after I had posted. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53910208/poser/Workout%20Clothing%20Genesis.zip I assume this works correctly unless someone tells me differnet.
I never found the orginal data file but I made a folder for mine and was able to save where I could find it. Thanks

Quote - but ? 3Dartwork in photoshop ..you mean a render "jpg" in photoshop..
Or a 3D file like in PS extended ...
you CANT rerender 3D images ... you can save the OBJ from a scene and load them in a rendering tool etc etc..
So im not sure what it is you want ...
Chris
It is a jpg with a 3d object on the jpg. It's not a big deal, just an idea I was playing with. I doubt it could be done. Thanks

Quote - I dont know but the FREE Daz Studio has a plugin called Reality that allows for that. They sell it here at Renderosity also.
Thanks, I have that. It is not a huge deal. I have some artwork that I wanted to see how other rendering would effect it.

Thread: 3D Product Rendering | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - She'll need to clarify. Might mean "make of model of my product and render it in a suitable setting", or she may mean "3D-print (rapid protoyper) an actual physical model for me of the item which I saw in your render".
If it's the first, you'll need to know how to model & map, as well as render.
If it's the second, you'd need access to a 3D printer/rapid prototyper, and know how to rebuild the mesh into a topologically closed (airtight) form, and have license to do so if the item is purchased content. Several places will do the mesh work and printing for you. R'osity's eula requires that you contact them to seek special license for 3D printing of RMP items.
*"...The Buyer shall not copy, modify, reverse compile, or reverse engineer the Product, or sell, sublicense, rent, or transfer the Product to any third party. *
This License does not grant permission to produce a real, tangible replica of the 3D mesh/model/product acquired. An additional license for production rights may be purchased by contacting Renderosity and will be subject to negotiation and approval by the vendor. Renderosity will contact the vendor on the Buyer’s behalf."
. edit: cross-posted by Rokket! ^^
I've not talked to the woman myself yet and was just doing some research including posting here so I wouldn't be totally stupid on the subject.

Thread: New DAZ installer? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - You can use any folder you like - the public documents folder is just the default. If you are planning to share content I would advise creating a folder only for your content, or even one folder per project if you work on multiple projects at once, and select that as a DAZ Studio Content Directory (most easily done by right-clicking on DAZ Studio Formats in the Content Library panbe). Place your textures in that folder, and when you save assets set that as the base path or when you save presets save them to there - that way you should get a folder that contains all and only the files for your item, ready to have a readme added and to be zipped up.
Thanks, I always use my own folder name then each project inside that folder. Now to get the path I want to use and use that.
Thanks

Quote - It appears to be fitting the shape - is it not rigging (since it sounds as if you are unhappy with it)?
The problem was it didn't fit after you run the transfer unit. See my last posting for the correct settings.

On MD forum it was figure out that is you use source > item figure > current instead of morphs, it does work. Also dial genesis to the shape you need instead of using the content section to put in your person.
