Hmmm. Very interesting. Could you post a screenshot of one of you ps grayscalws that you used int the terrain editor so that we can get an idea of how you accomplished it? It would educate us(me) and I think it would nice to see how bryce turns grayscale into height. Thanks

The texture is great but it is too big. Scale it down in the texture editor(no need to go to DTE for this), and I'd also play with the texture that is creating the black lines if it is a seperate texture. Maybe scale that down too and use that in the bump channel and/or reflecton channel. Play with it. Just suggestions--they may make matters worse but I think I would try that.
Thread: Pen stroke | Forum: Bryce
Just a suggestion, but this is how I owuld attempt to do it. First you need a jpg or bmp with the handwritten text on it. Project this (Map it)on to the ground plane or desk or paper or whatever it is you are writing on. Let's say paper ok? Then I would use a 2d plane to mask the paper, the 2d plane of course has to blend exactly with the paper so that you can not tell it is a seperate element..you know...same color texture, precisely positioned etc. Now as the pen is moving across the paper in simulated writing you 'pull' the 2d plane along with it so that the writing is revealed, so when the penpoint is at x the right edge of the 2d plane is also at x, when it is x + 1 so is the right edge of the 2d, and so on. Everything to the left of x is revelaed, to the right it is hidden. hope this helps.

I do feel your pain--I really do-- but you do have to admit, you weren't quite the geniusit not saving it at least once in the interim. Look at the bright side--it is a mistake you will NEVER NEVER NEVER make again.

No, I don't believe you can. But you can create a sphere, adjust it's transparency, bump etc and apply amaterial to that so that it looks like the type of moon you want.
Thread: WIP: Cold night on the Pier | Forum: Bryce
I think this is the begining of a great image. I agree with the above comments about the light balance, and the pier planks need a little grunge and aging. Same for the top of the posts. But this can be a very good one. Keep going.
Thread: Windows 2000 | Forum: Bryce
Bryce will work fine,a s will most other software. I would be careful with some hardware though. Graphics tablet, audio cards etc. Again most will work fine, but for some you may lose some functionality or the you may lose the device totally Make sure there are Win2k drivers available for you particular hardware and/or MicroSoft says the device is compatabile..
