lol, I'm left in the dust. I haven't had much time to work on it recently, and I expect a busy weekend. I'll probably still go ahead and finish it off, but it may take me a while. =) Since I think that danamo's going to beat me to the punch, maybe I'll modify it a bit (oh boy, more fun!). At any rate, very good work danamo and I look forward to seeing the finished product! =)

What the heck? It didn't post my response. This is the second time this has happened. danamo-- Same here. As I TRIED to say in the message that it didn't post, it's as much about learning new stuff about Wings (in a Bryce forum, no less) as it is about helping out a fellow forumite on his role-playing adventures. No worries; it's all fun. It'll also be interesting to compare artistic style on the finished product.

I might be willing to give it a shot. I haven't had a lot of time recently to work on modelling and texturing, so you may have to bear with me a bit, but I think I could do it with a bit of effort. And there is absolutely completely and positively no way whatsoever to model this in Bryce. I'm sorry, but that kind of setup is well beyond Bryce's modelling capabilities (unless you want to spend several weeks creating it). Do you have a bigger picture of the object?
Thread: Engineering Core Model (C&C needed) | Forum: Bryce
Thanks everyone. UVDan-- Thanks. Yes, texturing is... interesting. Dann-O-- Thanks. No, I didn't export it in pieces, nor did I hide part of it while I was modelling it. I have a file that has the entire model (about 85k polygons). I then exported all of it to Bryce for rendering (about 9hrs or so).

Not sure, but the image you have referenced looks a bit to me like it's just two cloud planes above and below the camera and not volumetric at all. I could be wrong. The link is to a tutorial for my favorite mist texture. You can also tweak it a bit (add more texture channels for the density is what I did) and it looks very good.Thread: OT: 3D street drawings | Forum: Bryce
Yeah, this was on the forums a while back... but I like this site better (the other thread just posted the pics, this is an actual site). This is so cool, and what I think of when someone says "good graffiti art" (not the trash they will show you in the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, certainly).
Thread: Great artist site - Must see | Forum: Bryce
Very nice site. I especially like the "game" that you must play in order to get to the "gifts" section of the site; it's a pretty cool excuse to force people to look at the rest of his site. The wallpapers you can download are also pretty cool. That guy likes his girls, doesn't he =)

Doesn't work for me either, so it's not just that you need a fast machine (I have 2.4Ghz and 1GB of RAM--though it could be my video card, I guess, that's not so hot: ATI Radeon 64MB).

A couple of things that might help: If you just clicked the sun icon to change it to night, it won't work. Stars are only visible if you are much later at night (move the moon nearer the center). Also check to make sure you have no clouds. It's the middle tab in the skylab, you can just uncheck "Stratus" and there you go.

Ah, yes, but they have this really cool flash preview thingie which says "change just got extraordinarily good". That's got to count for something, right? Meh, Microsoft sucks.

Very cool. One point of interest, however... if you're going for realism, shouldn't the straw on the left be pointed down because of gravity?
