That outprices me. :-), But if that's all the computer did, less loading hardware devices, drivers, etc. You could biuld a pretty fast one for a pretty reasonable amount.

Is a render box really just short of being a full fledged computer? I've seen ad's for render boxs in 3D world mag , and computer arts but haven't the fogiest idea what that's all about. Is the render box something of a network?

from a newbie's point of view, I'd add a little reflectivity to my plane, say many shiny alum. The ground image looks great. I like the wispy cloud idea as well.

Memory, I was having problems of the same type but with just a standard video card. I was forced to upgrade to a 7200 speed HD, Increase my memory, and ultimately replace my video card. I may be wrongm, but Bryce is a memory hungry program, which doesn't really use the capabilities of the high end video cards. So memorys got to be it.
