Thanks to all. Irene: Will look. JC:Yes, the image still has a long way to go. I'll use GI probably and there are going to be lamps lighting various areas. DC: Thanks, will check them out. Mak
Thread: Obsolete 3DS & Unsupported JPEGs! | Forum: Vue
Found the problem, and it was completely my fault! When I exported the model in C4D for a second time, it put a second lot of textures in and gave them bizaar file names. Similar, but slightly different to the originals. Once I got rid of those it was fine. Well, I say 'fine', I still have an awful lot to learn about importing models into Vue and what you should and should do when exporting 3DSs as there were some odd occurences. I'll look for tutorials... unless anyone can suggest one? Sorry for wasting your times, mam

Funny you should suggest that brunno021 as that's what I was thinking of doing but... I was wrong! Not all the jpegs will open in Elements so I'll probably just have to find replacements for them. There were no shaders used in the texturing, so I don't know what Vue was complaining about. But if it still imports, then it's fine with me. Thanks, Mak
Thread: Obsolete 3DS & Unsupported JPEGs! | Forum: Vue
Good to know that the Obsolete error isn't a problem, but the textures certainly are. I've done a little experimenting and think I know what the problem might be. The file was created on a Mac then transfered to a PC. In the PC there are 8 of the textures that won't show up as thumbnails. Those particular texture cannot be opened by Photoshop CS either, which say it doesn't recognise the JPEG markers. The bizaar thing is that Photoshop Elements CAN open them. But even if I save them from there they still won't open in CS. Mmmmm... strange. I bet someone know here knows the answer. Thanks for the help, Mak

I've come across this software before, but have never heard about anyone using it. Anyone here tried it out? Mak

So glad that I was pointed to this article as a crashing Vue was exactly the problem I was having.

Might be worth looking at something like Tourweaver. we use it to create virtual tours. Here's a link to Easypano, the company who make and sell it.Message edited on: 05/09/2005 10:13

Do you want this to include animations or to be more of a QuyickTime VR or VRML tour? Mak

Hi kawecki, I'm afraid that we need artists to at least be from England, just because of the nature of the projects. Thanks for your interest though. Mak

I think I just replied to you in a deleted thread. Let me know if you can see it. Mak
