How can I verify that the Host Name listed in the HyperVue is using the port I specified when I added that rendercow to the HyperVue window? When I added the rendercow to the HyperVue window it asked me to specify either the host name or ip address and the port number. I'd like to see some kind of verification that the port number I specified was accepted by seeing it in the HyperView window but it is not displayed. I can't see anywhere a way to verify the port number I specified to the HyperVue is actually being referenced. I can see it on the actual rednercow PC but what about the HyperVue PC
I'm trying to insure I am using an available port by checking the netstat -an command
Thread: How Do You Turn Off The Render Display When Outputting Frames To A File For Anim | Forum: Vue
Hello thd777.
Yes,I am using Vue 6 Infinite. I just visited the forums on e-onsoftware and there are other folks complaining of problems recently with rendcows with the new version of Vue 8 while using Windows 7 64 bit, see the link here:
http://www.e-onsoftware.com/support/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=4469
The extra PC has 6 gigs of ram. Its a new DELL T7500. I'm getting tempted to just take all my software from my currently old PC and put it on that one, just don't really thave the time.
The firewall is off on the new PC. Am running Norton on the old one but told norton to give full trust to the new one.
The scene is about 34 megs and is made of several poser imported items and cornucopia items also. I have waited at least 3 hours for the "Sending scene" message and nothing so I think it is stuck somewhere. I can copy files to and from the new PC and visa versa a few hundred megs in size pretty quick so shouldn't be a slow network or something like that.
I have attached to this reply a document of pictures which I have sent to e-onsupport.

You are lucky your Windows 7 64 bit setup works for you because mine is not. I have openned a ticket at e-onsoftware. My HyperVue Network Manager gets stuck at "Sending scene". I openned another thread hear on this problem. Everything looks okay and access between my main PC and the rendercow are very relaxed. Everything appears to be aligned with port number an build number but it won't work. The rendercow pc says its receiving but nothing beyond that. My network switchbox shows heavy traffice and the main PC shows almost 100% network traffic so it is trying to send something but somewhere along the line something is wrong. Both PCs have the same accounts and passwords so access between the two is very easy. No problem browsing files between the two.
Thread: How Do I Setup The Render Cow For View On An Extra PC Running Windows 7 64bit | Forum: Vue
I have now openned a support issue at Vue Tech support. Below are more details of this problem:
Hello, I have an extra PC running Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit. I have installed the rendercow software on the extra pc and it is running. I have added it to the HyperVue Network Manager running on my main PC which has Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. When I added the rendercow PC, I used its IP Addess instead of name. The port number has been set to the same on both the rendercow pc and the main pc. After adding it the Hypervue Network Manager shows the extra PC with a RenderCow Status of "Idle". When I go through the Animation render options window I select render which changes the status in the HyperVue Network Rendering Manager to "Sending scene...". Also, the Batch Rendering window pops up and shows a JOb Type of "Network" and a Status of "Rendering 0.00%". The extra PC that is supposed to do the rendering shows a rendercow window of "Receiving". This is as far as everything gets. Nothing else happens. What else do I need to do? I have truned off the fire wall on the extra PC. And I have given full trust to the extra PC on the main PC using Norton Security.
Thread: How Do I Setup The Render Cow For View On An Extra PC Running Windows 7 64bit | Forum: Vue
Well although I got the program installed and running it does not appear to be running properly. I started a render job. The HyperVue Manager PC shows that it is "Sending scene..." and the rendercow PC shows "Receiving" but that is all. The render never starts. I tried lossening up on several firewall settings but no luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

Okay I found out what the problem was. You can't just copy the RenderCow Setup.exe to a thumb drive and run it on the extra computer, which is what I did because I don't have a CD, I only have the downloaded version of Vue 6. So, I had to share the folder that had the Vue 6 install files from the download and then run the RenderCow Setup.exe file from the extra PC.

Okay, I'm going to try and use another computer connected to the one I am already using with the rendercow software. I'm reading up on it now. My current PC is running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. Should I put the same software on the other PC? The other PC has no operating system yet so now is a good time to decide what to put on it that works best for this rendercow solution.
Thread: What are the Better Vue Video Compressions To Use? | Forum: Vue
Hello thd777 and brun021.
Okay I'm back to this thread and will stay here. Both of you suggested that I use the external renderer to get render without the display as I asked. Neat feature but does not appear to be much faster. Although I do like it because I think maybe now I can still use Vue while that render is going on.
I wish I had the money for a faster PC because this one is going to take about 5 days to output just under 3,000 png files at 1280x720 using the Final quality setting and 30 frames per second. I'm using a core 2 duo at 2.4 mhz with 8 gigs of ram and Western Digital Caviar Black 1 Terra Byte Drive. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Hello Bruno021.
I hear ya. How do I delete this one? I'm going to copy some info from here and put it in the prior one. I don't know how to delete this one.

Thanks thd777. That sounds better than I had hoped. Will I still be able to use Vue while the external render is running so long as I don't try another external render, just internal ones?

By the way. That's a cool video you have on youtube. How long did it take to render that video and what kind of pc are you using?
Thread: How Do I Convert .PNG Files To AVI Or Other Movie Format | Forum: Vue
Hello thd777.
Thanks! excellent instructions in your other post. I was able get it working using Flash and Air Presets according to your tips. I guess my Sony Vegas needs to be updated because it won't read the .avi output. I'll have to try and import it in with Microsoft Expression Encoder to output it to .wmv then into Sony Vegas or just update my vegas. I prefer modifying my final Videos in Vegas for the sound track and other edit options. This would probably be more streamlined if I had Adobe Premeire as I'm sure that product has no problem importing the Flash output since they are both the same company. Thanks again!

Hello thd777.
Thanks for the update. I think I'm going to stop my current render job and restart it with png output as your settings show. Can you provide some tips on how I would assemble all the png files using Flash? I have Flash CS4 Professional. Is there something like an import in the menus that lets you specify a directory of a few thousand files that converts them to a movie? I have Sony Vegas Studio and am wondering if I can do it with that. In the past I have always just made my movies with a single avi but this time I think my movie is going to be too big for a single file.

Thanks bruno021.
Now, when you say "output to single frames" do you mean separate files like .jpg or .png files? If yes then where is that setting? I saw the setting for setting the range of frames to output (in my case it is 1 to 2,851) but not separate files. Where is that? I think I'm going to need this feature because Vue is estimating 47 hours to complete my render (720x480 res to avi uncompressed) and I'm already 8 hours into into it so if it bombs I'd like to do separate files if I can.
