Displacement on figures can cause problems, it enlarges the figure so it can caues eyes to fill in and make cloths go inside the character. It is only seen when rendered so do small test renders to detect these sort of problems. If you download my MTC_Poses there are some P5 mat skins in it (here in the rosity free section). Alien skin that uses P5 mats only. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=897543&Start=1&Artist=mapps&ByArtist=Yes All the guys in this pic are using those mentioned mats. :-)

odeathoflife you are underpriceing the ball for turbo squid, If you can get an apple for $219 then a ball is about 3 times the size, you should be selling it for $657...lol I'll jump to thefixers defence, I am a free contributor here and know how appriceated the freebies are. I have received several great thank you's for my contributions to the freesection from thefixer and others have too. But also as a contributor of freebies (and mine are considered pretty good) I have a list of favorite merchants. Sprinter, BatLab, Goldtassel, JaTex, Barron Vlad Harkonian, etc...etc...etc and have purchased many of their products, I've spent over $300 in the Rosity Market to date. There has to be a reason for it. Why because they ROCK! I do the freebies because I love sharing what I have made with who ever wants them. I have more fun making them then using them. I do put a few items into the market and I assure you I put more effort into those projects then I do into the free ones. Well some of the free ones have a insane investment of time in them but those are special posts. I love the impartial setup that is the Rosity Marketplace. Anyone can post something in the market as long as it doesn't break copywrite or is just very badly done. You are allowed 3 items, if they don't sell they go to the warehouse and go on sale, if they still don't sell they get removed. The public decides what is in the market this way, don't buy it and it will get removed. But everyone is allowed to get their feet wet and try. Some of them are not as good as they think, and some are better then they give themselves credit for. I say 3 cheers for impartial marketing. If you don't like what you see, don't buy it...but don't get me started on how long you have to look to find and outfit that isn't underware...lol
Thread: P5 Cloth Dynamics & Multipul figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK as a quick note, any problem with a freebie of mine feel free to IM me. IM always willing to help, and I can make changes to the original file if it turns out to be the problem. A few of my freebies are marked "fixed" or "Corrected". It could be a problem with the number of items in the pic for a high mesh total. Collision is calculated at the vertex level and the more of them there are the longer it will take. If you are using Mike and Vicky for example, use the Low res figures to caculate the dynamics the regular figures are the same shape. Just be sure to save the poses. Also remove all unneeded items like hair. Just the figures and cloths (if any). You can put the figures and bed level and have them in the final pose, don't start from zero. Position the sheet high above them and not flat angle it like "/" it will hit on the low end first and crumple in that direction. About 30 degrees if you just want it down a little and about 60 degrees if you want it pushed way down. I don't remember saying that draping should be turned off. I'll have to check the readme to see what I was talking about...lol You should be able to just use drape. Set up the values and drape frame and hit calculate drape. That alone may giv you what you are looking for. The rest is more useful if you are adding wind or ar moving the character after it is drapped. A time saving note, once you get the sheet to lay the way you want it. Go under object in the pose room and choose "spawn morph" it will add the final shape as a morph to the sheet and you can remove the cloth dynamics all together, this way if you want to use it again you have the sheet morph and the matching poses saved and can just apply them. Want the sheet to slide down? Use the Morphed sheet and start with it. Tilt the bed and figures now and calculate drape again. It will slide down from the morphed positiion. Do keep inmind though that when you tilt the bed the sides will hang pointing to the foot of the bed. You can get around this by using the dynamics start with the morphed sheet and use few or no drap frames. make the animation about 5 frames long and move the sheet down toward the bottom of the bed on the 5th frame, it can stick right through the bottom of the bed and the figures. The dynamics will fix this as it creates the frames. The sheet will move over the figures and collide with the foot of the bed and crumple up. Note again that too much "crumple will cause the program to go nuts on the time and the end result will look bad with jagged folds. you can get around this by shrinking the length of the sheet on the 5th frame to cause less crumple at the foot. :-)

momodot, You mentioned Displacemet too. Sad to say the higher the mesh res the better it displaces too. As it is just math applied to the vertex of the object, the higher the res the finer the displacemnt detail. I find Vic 2 is about perfict for me, but yes woud like the joints looked at.
Thread: New Gallery PLEASE (and the postwork issue again) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK my 2 cents worth. I am a no-postwork artist, mainly because I build all of the stuff I render. I fix the items rather then the image, because that is what I enjoy, can I do post work? Yes I do it for a living. I do use poser 6, I do use materials (I've created close to 400 of them and gave them all to the Rosity community), I do use FireFly and nothing but (P4 render engine for quick test renders only), why? because I enjoy the challenge of doing it that way. I think a "No-Postwork" gallery has merrit, but then to ballance it you would need a "Major Postwork" gallery. Many of the heavy postwork images drop my jaw and blow me away.

If you have no luck with the water mats (I have yet to find aor make one I am 100% happy with) My "Lynn's Point" freebie has a very large mat that works very well. It is in the freesection here big download though 98 meg (see notes and req for trouble shooting the download) if you are interested. It is a to scale cove with huge textures which is why the download is so big.

Thread: some noise when turning props to figure | Forum: Poser Technical
This tends to be a problem with Poser 5 mats that use "Noise or Granite" in one of the nodes. Unplug the node and it will be fine again. The model if fine. it is basicley a Math calculation error. If the Noise or Granite node is pluged into Bump it happens quite often. I fight this problem all the time when makeing new mats. You can also check the math values of the nodes. use round numbers .2 not .156 the simpler the math is the better it will work. You can also switch the bump node to displacement or gradient bump. The effect is not quite the same but it works right.

I also have many people I've thanked along the way for all of there help to me. Most people know you get what you give and remember to give what they in turn have gotten. :-) Happy New year
