"I saw that reply, but I still think it was rushed to quiet down the mob. Like I said, give them time to polish these guidelines" If this is the case, shouldn't they of polished the guide lines before posting them and putting them into effect? By the fact that they are currently inforcing the new TOS it would say that they believed that they were polished enough.

ok, I know this wont do any good, (i dont know it might) but here is a site that defines what is and isn't legal in the US as defined by the PROTECT Act of April 2003. From what I can see it's totally academic and non-baised politically.Thread: Change in TOS...New Child Image Guidelines | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Posting from Great Britain, where the law explicitly states that indecent pictures of somebody over-18 who happens to look underage are illegal" Thats one of the newer laws here in the US as well, but I believe in both versions of the law it allots for artistic nudity, but that's not my beef. It's the topless boy/infant that has be down in the dumps. I have a very nice picture of my son at the beach with the sun setting behind him that now I can't post.

"Please be patient with us. It appears that much of our staff can't be online at this time... " MorriganShadow, It seems that you have a mostly volenteer staff then. If so I do commend you (esp you personally) for taking this seriously and trying to react to it in a timely manner. Lumer is right, shut down the gallery and the site wont last 3 months. Did I hear some one say keep it civil breaks out the pies j/k wink

sigh. personally guys, I think I'd rather see a rule that says no nudes, all females must be clothed top and bottom, and all males must have bottoms on. My real problem isn't with the new TOS as they apply to female characters, it's just a little extreme when dealing with male characters and infents. I mean you can show more in a disney film then here under these rules.

Chris, I'd wildly belived that the 'greys' are somewhat asexial and reproduce through artifical means (ie cloning) just as the Asgaurd on Stargate (the Asgaurd btw are the greys)

well I guess I got my answer while I was typeing To quote someone above... "Luckily we still live in a democracy where you have that choice to make! " Do we?

I'm still waiting on the answer to the boy/bathing suit issue as there is no fully body bathing suits for boys that I can find. Also what about the Millunium Baby? It doesn't have a shirt on is that also not allowed? I'm not one to usually get involved in these type of discussions (except to make fun of them) but this TOS change is too over the top. So what's the next step. No pictures with children in them period? Then the only people that'll come here are the ones looking for pictures of nude women in temples. I hope I'm wrong in thinking this, but I can't shake the feeling that this is just the admins way of saying 'if you question us, and we'll just slap you with tougher rules.' just keep in mind when you're reveiwing TOS changes -- you stifle art too much with rules then it just becomes crafts. Basket weaving anyone?
Thread: Real Dragon Texture WIP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The only usage restriction will be that you can't pack the texture up and sell it as your own (not that you couldn't pack it up and GIVE it to people free just a by line is all I ask), anything else would be cool.
as far as the special goes. I found it intertaining, I'm not a big dragon 'specialist' so I can't really comment on the way they explained things from a historic sense. I did however find the 'dragons as big hydrogen ballons' bit a little hokey, and the fact that they 'could' explode on inpact if they were using the fire weapon and crash hard enough. Although that would be a sight to behold. yea I noticed the palms after I rendered this, I'm using crocodiles as guidence more then Geckos and the smaller lizards, but the change still applies just not as small. They also tend to be a bit lighter in color then the tops of the hand so I'll probably use the belly coloration in them.
Ohh BTW perhaps I'm just being retarded today but I can't seem to find Catherina's gallery or what randym77 was talking about, any one have a link or something that I can follow

Thanks for your thoughs.
As far as the wings go, I'm really not happy with them at the moment, I plan to use Faceoff's tutorial for SSS and I'll take a look at Catherina's gallery it may inspire me.
ventral plates - check, I can just use the body texture and blend it in. I may even be able to get away with a blender node trick.
Horns are just using a canned Poser texture so yea they could use some work on wear and tear for now we'll just say it's a young dragon ;) what do you guys think about perhaps a trace amount of translucence to the horns as well. I've observed that some peoples teeth, even though they take good care of them, for one reason of another have a little bit of a translucence quaility to them, any one concer?
I was accutally inspired by the Animal Planet commercials a little while back, but waited until after the special to make some obsercations on how they did things. Strange huh, most people watched the show to learn a little more about dragons and if they could of existed. I on the other hand watched it to pick up tips on texturing. Am I alone in this? :)
Ohh BTW I plan to wrap this up into a mat file and stick it in the freebies section when I'm done, so all your suggestions will make a better free product for all of us to use

well like I said you could probably go it with grouping and making a new material level, but I've never tried it myself, and I'm not sure what (if anything) that would do to the UV maping. It could throw your whole texture map off

Hold on, I got the weekly world news on line 2, I smell a bidding war (or is that just the bean and sauerkraut burritos I had for lunch?)
