You can see one of my Sketch Render styles at the Rederosity Store. Take a look at my Musician poses. I used a stipple effect on them. Click on the thumbnail to see the larger version. It' s still kinda small to see detail well, but you can see the essence. I have now used a few SR Poser pieces for some commercial illustration work. A how-to is coming.

I just posted a message about all this a few minutes ago. Guess I should have read a little further first! It does sound like there is an interest in getting good results from the Sketch Render feature. I will post some images soon. I have been working on an oil/palette knife set and a stipple set along with a few other "style" sets of this type. Watch for 'em. 3Don

Thread: Thanks for the flute robs! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Left-handed flute players play the flute as a right-hander would, just as a right-handed French horn player plays the instrument left-handed. Most instruments were designed for right-handed people and are played that way. The guitar is the only instrument I know of that can be restrung (upside down) to reverse the way the instrument is played. Actually, handedness is not really an issue with playing a musical instrument. One gets used to playing the instrument as is. When one learns a two-handed task, the "off-hand" can be as clever as the other. I am a stickler for accuracy in all my work.

Was this image reversed? The flute goes to the right, not left. See my 25 musician poses at the Renderosity store. Robs, have you done any other instruments?

For starters get the Artist's and Graphic Designer's Market, published by Writer's Digest books. You can find it at barnesandnoble.com. It has many freelance sources as well as info on doing business. Geographic location seems to have a lot to do with pricing structures. A New Your market will pay more than say a more "backwater" market. And of course, quality is of the essence.
Thread: Confuzzled about 'grouping' | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I build many props with just the Poser Primitives. I don't use the Grouping tool. Go to Export in menu bar, and select export as 3DS object. You will get a window that looks like the one yu get when you attach a prop to a figure. It prompts you to select the items to Export. Deselect UNIVERSE and then check all the boxes for the props you have added. It helps to name the props as you create your object for ease of exporting selection. You don't even have had to attach them to one another. All will Save As and export to a place you designate. However, the prop comes back all one color. You can only recolor the whole. You can also then add the Imported 3DS prop to your Library. See my Props Building Tutorial at: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/vision_vessel
Thread: How many poser chars at once? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Depends on HiRez or LoRez. I've put over 12 P3 LoRez figures in a scene, or as many as 7-8 People (with no added clothes or props except for hair. HiRez, mucho morphed, and clothed figures... only a few...
Thread: Patch problem: Download on a Mac | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I work on a Mac and prefer Explorer to Navigator. I often have download problems, like the link breaks, but I think it is my ISP. But, I am able to download large files, like from Zygote. So why download the P4 patch if they're still working on it? Is it officially done?

Thread: Sketch Render Doesn't Apply to Figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Try the Soft Charcoal Preset. Set the Density to high and the opacity to high, too. Be sure your figure has some color to it. Try Sketching just one figure in a tight window. See what happens.

The Sketch Render will apply to figure. In the settings window, look for a check box for Figure. Also, somewhere there is a Render sketch Style selection.
