I don't see nostalgia as being necessarily dark. I have experienced joy and sorrow on many occasions. The feeling of elation might be hard to describe, but there are many places where its part of the common human experience:The joy one feels when seeing loved ones after a long abscence is one experience, the closing embrace of lovers when the love seemed impossible is another. Truth and light are mere colors that make joy possible, mere cards played in loves game of suspence.

Maybe the woman was escaping from an evil sorcerrer, who was a druid and turned her into lumber, but before the spell could work she jumped into the water and zap froze under the enchantment. The frog was an innocent bystander. This moss be the face...

how about for stanza 2 Sunbeams caress this sleepy place; And find the darkened sills; To kiss awake the silent face; In homes upon the hills. Well I tried to keep your structure intact TBT to the artist. (to be true)

In the second stanza in the first two lines your focusing on the hills, on the last two lines your focusing on windows and then people. Try to imagine if this were a video and each time you changed the focus the picture changed. Your trying to hold a mood, which you do quite well for the first six lines the change in focus is like two rapid scene changes. In a quatrain this causes some confusion. I understand what you're trying to say but in this case I think maybe there should have been three quatrains to soften the transition and keep the mood. It's kinda like saying a reallllly slow opening but to curt an end to go with it.

They say one picture is worth 1000 words. I disagree. In twenty-four short lines of free verse you have told us how a young woman's heart bleeds, and how limmerance is not just lust softened by memory or distance.

Doesn't it remind you of the statue in the ghost story where all of the action seems to take place? Thanks Feendrache lets see what the others think.

I was answering an IM request to put a story behind "After the Dust Storm" a September 15th post in the Vue gallery. I haven't left Renata out on Kelvar. Just haven't thought about her much as I'm still trying to figure out Solid Works.

Anyone who can play the bagpipes knows what sounds good and what doesn't so listen to what Caledonia is saying.

pairings Aching so...with Rewards so ...worth I think a quatrain may not be the best construction here. One stanza of free verse might be better. Also watch the difference between emphatic words and parenthetic words such as Mysterious treasure(emphatic the voice would be raised)my mind's intrigued(parenthetic the voice lowered). with desire(3) parenthetic should be seperated out by commas so it should be Aching so, with desire, to explore. Do you see what I'm trying to say? Keep up the good work don't be shy. Do it once mur(ouch). Give it another try. poetic liscence #z230 781 422 845.

I was probably wrong too...wouldn't the word be homogenous? meaning all the same substance whereas homogeneous would mean all arising from the same substance. In this case all of the elements in the atmosphere did not come down as one big mush, but as a lot of little this here and that over theres. When I studied organic chemistry we learned early that different subtances freeze at different temperatures and this was one way of seperating and purifying them. Methane is necessary for carbohydrates and protiens, while ammonia would be necessarty for amino acids. I thought food. Starships need to make their own food, and then someone shewed me the money. Territorial wars...now there's a possibility let me give it some thought.
