ok, well i opened the cr2 and did a search for the word "weld" and nothing came up. if im going to find it manually im not really sure where to start, the cr2 is of course HUGE, and scrolling through is very slow =/ any tips on finding that section you mentioned?

oh when i say editing joint centers i mean tweaking blend zones etc. all that stuff wont help you if the joint is already broken; i know the joint parameters have to be identical to those of the corresponding body part, and that i can do no problem. the mystery is why does the model tear itself apart, instead of bending and stretching between the joints; like it should be doing. thanks!

As far as i know a PHI file is just a hierarchy file; i build them them with the hierarchy editor in poser.

well i did figure out a work around for now =) yeah in the future ill try welding the mesh before it leaves rhino; messing with joint params and blend zones lol... i tried that for 2 hours did not get any closer at all; i mean the ends arent even touching each other. thats ok though, i think all things considered i graduated =) could not have done it without all your help though =)

hmm im still having an issue; apparently no matter what already-conforming cr2 i use, after i point it to my obj it still shows up in poser missing arms or legs (the middle parts work fine). i wonder, am i missing something about the OBJ itself? is there anything special you should check about the obj for your clothing figure? the way im coming up with the obj is, AFTER doing the box method to get my outfit in the right place, i spawn props, do the heirarchy, and put it in the library. THIS cr2 then of course has internal geometry, which i export; and thats how i come up with my obj should that obj work with the new cr2?

hmm well, im not having any problems at all MAKING the clothes, and i dont need the catsuit for that. my problem is a technical one- i lose the arms and legs. here is sort of a rundown of what i do: 1) import my model into poser onto vicki's body, it is already fitting perfectly when i import it (i use the box method) 2) spawn props and use the heirarchy editor to create the clothing figure 3) add clothing figure to the library 4) extract the geometry from the clothing figure's cr2, and save the new obj to my geometries folder. 5) using a slimmed down catsuit cr2, i POINT it to my obj (the one i created in step 4) 6) import this modified catsuit cr2; which will become my clothing figure, since it is pointing to my obj. 7) this is the step where i SHOULD simply be able to click "conform to figure" except that my clothing figure (the one i just imported in step 6) now has no arms or legs. 8) well i cant go on since the figure i just imported had the arms and legs cut off, even though they are present in the obj it is referencing. So, like i said it should work... since the cr2 i point to my obj was already conforming, i have no clue why its messed up =(

hmm maybe it is group names then; i can't do this one as separate props because, like the catsuit, most of it is a seamless outfit. in general conforming isnt that hard, i have figured out how to do it, but only if it's NOT for the arms or legs parts of vicki =P

ok, so i think i got it: if my original conforming figure i made does NOT have all the connecting body parts... that is ok as long as the cr2 that i modify to point to my obj DOES have them. is that right?

i think that may be the easiest way... where can i find this victoria cat suit? i would KILL for it right about now. ALSO, my conformer has CHEST, and FOREARMS, but no shoulders/collar parts. is that a problem? i wouldn't think that would be a problem since i already own tons of conformers that cover only certain body parts. thanks!
